Empties Edition 5 Beauty Products I've used up

Beauty products I’ve used up

My previous beauty empties wasn’t too long ago but I have been finishing products at an alarming rate recently so I’m excited to share another full basket of beauty empties with you. The main question being, would I repurchase?

In my previous empties (empties edition 4) I shared quite a few body products. Well this time round it seems I’ve been making a substantial dent in my skincare stash. It’s such a great feeling to finally tip a whole basket of empty products into the recycling bin, so without further ado, here are the recent beauty products I’ve used up.

Skincare

Ren Everclam Gentle Cleansing Milk | £19

I’m already working on a new Ren Evercalm Gentle Cleansing Milk. In fact I featured this in my recent morning skincare routine post so I will try not to repeat myself to much. Needless to say, this is a firm favourite of mine and something that’s been in my rotation for years. Gentle but effective, I find this to be a great cleanser for keeping my skin soft and clear without feeling stripped. I feel like the price tag is so reasonable for the quality and the time it takes to use up. It’s amazing for sensitive and dry skin and well worth checking out if you are after a cream cleanser.

Verdict: Have repurchased

La Roche Posay Anthelios Comfort 30 spf | £16.50

I finished the La Roche Posay Anthelios Comfort a while ago and have since moved onto the Anthelios XL. My skin gets on really well with La Roche Posay Sunscreen, it doesn’t cause any reaction in my skin and gives me UVB + UVA protection. The comfort version is a thicker cream which I found disrupted my foundation, which is why I switched to the ultra light XL version. I find them to be very similar expect for texture and thickness, so I will unlikely buy this specific version again. The XL has been working great for me and in general I would really recommend La Roche Posay for sunscreen as they really keep my skin protected.

Verdict: Wouldn’t repurchase Comfort but would repurchase XL

Indeed Hydraluron Moisture Booster Face Serum |£24.99

This is my second tube of the Indeed Hydraluron serum and frustratingly, I still can’t decide how I feel about this product. As I have very dry skin I hoped Hyaluronic Acid would improve my skins overall hydration.  Unfortunately, I still have yet to see any results. It sinks straight into my skin and doesn’t leave any reside. For a time, I was using this a makeup primer and found it to work well, especially in the cooler months. It’s not a cheap product to be so on the fence about, so it’s unlikely I would buy this again.

Verdict: Wouldn’t repurchase

Omorovicza Deep Cleansing Mask |£62

I take any opportunity to rave about the Omorovicza Deep Cleansing Mask. When I finished the jar I didn’t hesitate to repurchase, which surprised me as it holds a hefty price tag. The reason I bite the bullet again was its just so worth the splurge. This mask makes my skin look absolutely radiant, like nothing else. As I have dry skin it can often look flaky and dull, one use of this and my skin is totally transformed. It’s a wonder product and has me completely hooked. My fiancé always noticed when I have used this as he always comments on how glowing my skin looks. If my skin ever feels lacklustre or congested the deep cleansing mask makes light work of it in just 10 minutes. Gentle and not stripping this clay mask is a wonder product and I can’t rave about it enough.

Verdict: Have repurchased

Lush Honey Lip Scrub | £5.95

The Lush Honey Lip Scrub is my favourite to date. It smells (and tastes!) amazing and does a great job to smooth my lips. I have very dry and flaky lips and this can be an absolute lifesaver to make them look renewed. I would advise using this over the sink, as it can get quite messy. It’s a quick and easy step I like to do before applying any matte or liquid lipsticks, to ensure my lips are in tip-top shape. The honey scent from Lush, is my absolute favourite so I will definitely be purchasing this again.

Verdict: Would repurchase

Pai Echium & Argan Gentle Eye Cream | £32

The Pai Echium & Argan eye cream was really gentle and soothing on my under eyes. My only complaint with this product is the pump. One pump is far to much product and so I feel I wasted 50% of this in the process. I love the light texture and the way it sinks straight into my skin. Pai is an amazing brand for sensitive skin and I found this eye cream to be delicate and hydrating. If they changed the packaging or altered the pump, to pump out less product I would certainly repurchase.

Verdict: May repurchase

Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour Cream Tin | £8.15

I have mentioned a few times my undying love for the Elizabeth Arden 8 hour cream. It’s my most trusted lip balm and the only thing that I can put on my skin when my facial eczema is particularly bad. I have a tube or tin stashed in every room of the house. It’s an absolute staple for me and just the ticket to sooth dry, sore skin. The texture is very greasy but that’s never bothered me. I only use this independently so it has no effect on other products. Although, I do prefer the tube to the tin version, I couldn’t resist the pretty limited edition packaging. I will of course repurchase as it’s such an essential product for me.

Verdict: Have repurchased

Bodycare

Rituals Happy Buddha Body Scrub |£19.50

In my last empty’s I finished of the smaller size of the Rituals Happy Buddha Body Scrub and regrettably I have finished off the larger size too. As I mentioned last time, this is one of my absolute favourite scrubs. From the scent, to the nourishing oils, it’s an all-round winner. I like a rough scrub that’s still gentle on my skin and this really delivers. The sugar leaves my skin super silky and the intoxicating sweet orange and cedar wood scent really lingers on the skin. I find this to be one of the most hydrating scrubs I’ve ever tired. The oil and sugar does separate, so it needs to be mixed together with every use. The packaging does leak with the tub version which is something to bare in mind. As this never moved from my bathroom I didn’t find it to be a problem. I miss it already!

Verdict: Would repurchase

Native Activated Charcoal Natural Deodorant (sample Size) | £6.99 for 60ml

I have tried a few natural deodorants in the past with no success. I received the Native Activated Charcoal Deodorant in a Birchbox and it changed the game for me. This kept me fresh and dry all day, in the midst of summer which is not an easy feat. The fact that it’s free from paraben and aluminium is fantastic and something hard to find. I love the fresh, clean scent too. I does take some getting used too, applying a balm instead of a roller-ball or aerosol but I don’t find it to be that problematic and as it works so well, I will definitely be purchasing the full size.

Verdict: Would repurchase

Haircare

Natural World Brazilian Keratin Shampoo & conditioner | £3.99*

The Natural World Brazilian Keratin Shampoo and Conditioner were sent to me back in January. It’s taken me a long time to get through these bottles, even though I have been using this 3 times a week ever since. I mentioned in my original blog post how much I was impressed with these products and I’m pleased to say my opinion hasn’t changed. For such an extremely reasonable price, you might not expect them to work so well but my hair felt stronger and less frizzy thanks to this fab formula. Free from Parabens, Phosphates, Phthalates, dyes and gluten, the Brazilian keratin formula is a real winner while being more natural for my hair.

*Pr gifted all opinions are my own

Verdict: Would repurchase

Makeup

Mac In Extreme Dimension Extra Black Lash Mascara | £20

The Mac In Extreme Dimension Mascara has quite a large, short bristled plastic wand. It is fairly flexible and I found it easy to coat all my top and bottom lashes with. The In Extreme Dimension, gives a great amount of volume and decent length to my lashes. Most importantly, it doesn’t smudge or flake-off throughout the day. If you have extremely watery eyes, this can give you black tears, which I’ve experienced on a few occasions but otherwise I can’t fault it. I only ever use mascaras for three months for hygiene reasons, so I was sad to have to part with this so soon. I would definitely rate it a top 10 mascara for me and could easily see myself buying it again.

Verdict: Would repurchase

Bobbi Brown Corrector | £19.50

The Bobbi Brown Corrector in Light to medium bisque, is a salmon toned corrected that can be used to help conceal dark circles under the eyes. I usually apply this first, then use foundation and concealer over-top. Although this doesn’t completely erase my dark under eye circles, it does drastically improve them. I found the Bobbi Brown corrector to blend easily into the skin and not upset any products laid over top. It’s a quick step that offers great results and felt disappointed when I finally used it up.

Verdict: Would repurchase

Love the Bobbi Brown corrector! With my dry undereyes, both the corrector and the concealer are the best formula for me right now. My skincare stash has been going down as well: I’ve finished my beloved Pixi Milky mist and I’ve got a new one ready to go already. The Frank body coffee scrub is also a staple for me and I’ve already binned 3 pouches this summer I think. Love that stuff! Xx

Its such a good corrector, I have dry undereyes and it works so well. I actually need to try the concealer, I think I might get the duo next time.
I really want to try both the Pixi milky mist and the Frank Body coffee scrub, they are both on my list so glad to hear you have been loving them! Thanks so much for reading Beatrice xx
