As a self proclaimed skincare junkie. I’m always on the hunt for products that are going to transform my skin and make me look like the glowing goddess I aspire to be. These five products have been stealing the show for me and making a huge difference in my routine. Some are more recent favourites and a few are holy grail products.

I have posted two instalments of makeup favourites. It was high-time, I diverted my attention to the skincare products, I have been using and loving recently. If you missed my latest makeup favourites click here to catch up.

Skincare Favourites Edition 1

I made quick work of picking out a few of my favourites, to kick off this new edition of posts on my blog. Skincare is a real passion of mine. Finding products that don’t just do the job, but really give my skin the ingredients it needs to look it’s absolute bests, is my goal. Good skin can completely transform my mood. My skincare routine has really become something I cherish and saviour. When I find products that do incredible things, I feel it’s my duty to share them with you all!

My Skin Type: Dry & Sensitive.

Clinique Take Off The Day Cleansing Balm | £24

What can I say about the Clinique Take off the Day Balm that I haven’t already said over and over again in my empties. This is my holy grail makeup remover. It’s the product I can’t bare the thought of running out of and always have back ups in my stash. I have been using the Take Of The Day cleansing balm for years, when I first tried this I feel so in love and never looked back.

The colourless balm, melts into dry skin and completely removes every trace of makeup (including eye makeup) effortless. I don’t have to tug at my eyes, or over-work this into my skin. It’s so gentle, even on the eyes and after working into my skin, I use a damp washcloth to remove the product. I promise it’s less work than face wipes and far more effective. Not mention better for your skin. My skin feels comfortable and completely clean. It does exactly what it promises and better than anything else I have ever tired*.

Honourable mention

*Honourable mention goes to the Caudalie Makeup Removing Cleansing Oil, which you may see in a future skincare favourites.

Skincare Favourites Edition 1

Omorovicza Deep Cleansing Mask | £62

Since this is my second jar of the Omorovicza Deep Cleansing Mask I knew it needed to be mentioned in this post. As some of you may know, Omorovicza is my all time favourite skincare brand. Their products are luxurious, transformative and in my opinion, totally worth the splurge. When I brought this mask for the first time, I wasn’t sure if it was going to be worth the price tag. But it wasn’t just worth it, it became my obsession. So great in fact, that I not only enjoyed using every drop but couldn’t bare to be without it when I finished it up and jumped straight online to buy it again.

The Omorovicza Deep Cleansing Mask, is what I would consider to be a light clay mask. It doesn’t completely dry out the skin, in that familiar hard shell that many clay masks do. Where you can’t move your face it feels so vacuumed. It goes on with a slight sheerness and all you need is a light layer, for it to do its magic. It doesn’t dry my skin out, like some clay masks can either.

This stops breakouts in its tracks and resurfaces my skin to look clearer and brighter, my pores tighter and dark spots lighter. My fiancé always notices when I have used this, as he always comments on how good my skin looks. It’s truly a wonder mask.

Skincare Favourites Edition 1

Laneige Water Sleeping Mask | $25

I purchased the Laneige Water Sleeping Mask while in Sephora in California earlier this year. It was one of the main products I wanted to get while visiting the States, as I had heard such wonderful things. Well it definitely lived up to the hype for me, as it does incredible things to hydrating my skin.

If you haven’t tried a sleeping mask before, it’s the ultimate minimal effort, maximum gain product. Just apply to clean skin, go to bed and wake up radiant. Easy!

This has a fresh light scent and a cooling gel texture. It’s a real treat to use and sinks straight into the skin, offering instant hydration but also working overnight to give my skin bounce. I also notice a difference when I wake up. I use this around 2-3 times a week and highly recommend it. It’s very gentle and an all-around lovely product to use.

I’m kicking myself for not picking up the Lip Sleeping mask while I was in America but next time I’m there, I will be adding it to my Laneige sleeping mask collection.

Skincare Favourites Edition 1

Dermalogica Skin Smoothing Cream | £57

Last month Dermalogica very kindly sent me their new skin smooth cream* to try. Since testing out Dermalogica for the first time a few months ago (Click here to read if you missed it) I have become a huge fan of the brand. Their products aren’t just good, they are truly outstanding and much like Omorovicza, I can’t find a dud in the line.

This might just be the best moisturiser I have ever used. It’s not uncommon for, a few hours after applying moisturiser, my skin begins to feel dry and tight. It’s the complete opposite with the skin smoothing cream. My skin feels hydrated and bouncy throughout the whole day.

Worth the splurge

This rich cream sinks into the skin without any greasy residue. I can feel a change in my skin after applying, it’s like the relief I didn’t know I was missing. I have extremely dry, flaky skin around my nose in particular and this has fixed it entirely, which many moisturisers have tried to do before and fallen short.

I’m honestly blown away, it ticks every box or me and has done wonders for my dry skin. A little goes a long way, so despite the higher price tag, it’s not a product you will go through quickly and it’’s truly worth the splurge if you really suffer with dry skin like I do.

Skincare Favourites Edition 1

La Roche Posay Serozinc Toner Mist | £10

The La Roche Posay Serozinc Toner Mist, is a product I discovered a few years ago and it’s been my secret weapon ever since. When I’m suffering with breakouts, this makes such a difference. It’s not a product I use daily, but when I need that extra help, it’s my go to.

This mist is gentle and cooling, it dry’s quickly and doesn’t leave any residue. Amazing after a work out, this helps combat shine and keep bacteria at bay. Although this is targeted more towards oily skin, I don’t find it does any harm for my dry skin. As I do use it sparingly. As I suffer from the odd breakout, it really does come in handy. To help calm and reduce the appearance of blemishes. A great product to have in your skincare stash when you need it, or if you like to get sweaty, this could be your new best friend.

Final Thoughts

My skincare favourites has been long overdue on my blog. I can promise there are more incredible products to come in future instalments. When I find a skincare product that I really love, I tend to be very loyal to it and use it religiously. That’s certainly the case for the Clinique Take Off The Day balm which makes a regular appearance in my empties posts. The Omovozica Deep Cleansing Mask and Laneige Sleep Mask both give my skin that extra boost it needs, to keep it looking bright, clear and hydrated. The Dermalogica Skin Smoothing cream is the moisturiser I want to shout about at the top of my lungs. I knew I would enjoy it, but in just a month its pushed everything out the way to take the number one spot. Lastly the La Roche Posay Serozinc is a totally steal of a product and has really helped me keep blemishes as bay. It’s safe to say I love them all.

I love Clinique Take The Day Off Balm and went through a few of it. I have never tried LRP Serozinc because I have dry-normal skin but I adore the Thermal Spring Water, it’s my holy grail! If you love Laneige Water Sleeping Mask then you need to try the Firming version, I find it to be so much better.

Totally agree with your review of the Clinique Cleansing Balm! I remember the sales associate using it on me years ago at the counter and it was love at first use! I have the LRP Thermal Mist spray which I really enjoy but I might pick up the Serozinc next time for when I have my pesky blemishes!

First of all, I completely agree with you on Dermalogica, I really love this brand. Second, I’m gonna try the Clinique cleansing balm, because I’m looking for something that effortlessly takes of my mascara, and the Neutrogena wipes kinda tug at my skin too much. I’m curious about the La Roche mist spray, I’m gonna have to look into that one. Super informative post, lovely!
