Five new facial mists

I know it hasn’t been to long since my last Revolution Skincare post. However, when these five exciting new essence facial sprays landed on my door step, I couldn’t help but shuffle about my schedule to talk about them pronto.

Who can resist a gentle facial spray? Not me that’s for sure. I’m always like a moth to a flame when skincare brands bring out facial mists. There is something about a cooling mist that just seems to put everything right. A quick and effortless way to top my skin up with some added benefits, wherever and whenever, what’s not to love?

The load down

The Revolution Essence Sprays are £6 each for 100ml, once again a really fantastic price point. The affordability of the line is what impressed me the most in my last review of Revolution Skincare. Click here to read if you missed it.

There are five varieties in the current collection with a few familiar names. For example there is the Superfruit essence spray and a Superfuit Serum. CBD also has a serum partner. A nice way to double up or mix and match to get the best of two worlds in your routine. Revolution Skincare is also Vegan and Cruelty Free.

Adding Essence Sprays to your routine

Essences sprays such as these, can be used in place of a toner within your skincare routine or as a refresh throughout the day. I would say after cleansing is the best time to use these but I do like a little revive mid-afternoon when my skin needs it. They can also kept in the fridge for a really refreshing treat, especially in the warmer months. I will be doing this myself.

To use them; shake well, keep eyes closed and holding bottle about 20cm away, mist over the face. If you aren’t a fan of face mists, these can be sprayed onto a cotton pad and swiped over clean skin instead.

I love the ease and convenience of facial sprays and often keep one on my desk to remind myself to use it. They can also be thrown in a bag for when you’re on the move, as you don’t need anything else to use them.

Niacinamide | Clarifying Essence Spray

First up we have the Niacinamide spray. Niacinamide is a form of vitamin B3. It’s amazing for improving the appearance of enlarged pores and helping clarify the skin. Perfect for blemish prone skin this will help calm and reduce inflammation in the skin.

All the Revolution Essence Sprays can be used within your routine or at any point during the day, as and when needed. I can see Niacinamide being a great option for after exercising to help clarify the skin and prevent breakouts.

The camomile scent is refreshing and calming. I haven’t found any irritation in my sensitive skin when using this and I love that Niacinamide has so many positive skin properties. I think all skin types could benefit from this one but especially oily skin, as vitamin B3 assists with oil control. It’s certainly a workhorse product.

Hyaluronic | Hydrating Essence Spray

I was excited to see a Hyaluronic essence spray make an appearance in the line. I’m no stranger to the ingredient, I feel like its popping up more and more in skincare these days. Hyaluronic is great for dehydrated skin, as it preps the skin for better moisture retention. I often use it in my routine before moisturiser. The two combined really help hydrate my skin, keeping it bouncy.

The Hyaluronic Essence Spray contains grapefruit extract, so no surprises that it smells like it too. I love grapefruit as a scent, so this one is my personal favourite fragrance wise.

I find Hyaluronic to be a slow-to-work product in my routine but I do use it often during the cooler months especially. If you find your skin starts to feel tight during the day, this is certainly worth looking into.

CBD | Nourishing Essence Spray

I can’t talk about trendy skincare without CBD getting a mention. My eyes lit up when I saw the CBD Nourishing Essence spray. Hemp oil contains fatty acids, which are amazing for providing extra moisture to the skin. It’s also notably great for eczema, which I suffer from. Perfect for sensitive, dry and even eczema prone skin, I really feel like CBD was made for me. Of course you don’t have to have severely dry skin, like I do to appreciate this one, it’s great for nourishing and soothing any skin type.

I love the cucumber scent, it makes me feel like I’ve been transported to a spa. Out of all the facial sprays, this is the one I feel like you can use excessively if you wish to, without fear of over doing it. The perfect edition to your travel bag. Spritz and ahhh.

Superfruit | Replenishing Essence Spray

The Superfruit Extract Serum & Primer was one of my favourites from my last Revolution Skincare review. I was very pleased to see a Superfruit essence too. Superfruit smells incredible, so did the serum. The facial spray smells like juicy berries, whereas the serum smells liked vanilla cake. Either way I’m here for it.

Great for lacklustre skin, blueberry extract rich in antioxidants helps fight environmental damage. The replenishing formula is another essence that I think would be great for all skintypes and anyone who is after a skin pick-me-up.

Caffeine | Energising Essence Spray

Last but not least, in the essence range is Caffeine. As a caffeine addict I love the idea of getting an extra boost from my skincare as well. Caffeine has the mildest scent; it’s fresh, with a slight hint of lemon from the citrus oil.

This essence is going to give your skin a refreshing and energising wake-up. A great choice for any skin type, especially if your skin is looking a bit dull. I have been reaching for this one on weekday mornings, when I feel half asleep myself. Lemon is known for brightening and I do notice my skin looking more awake after a good misting.

Final Thoughts

I have only been using the Revolution Essence Sprays for a short period of time, so this is really more of an introduction to the new range. Having said that, I feel like these are great any time products that don’t have to form part of a regular routine and can be used as and when desired. I love facial sprays and you really can’t beat the price point. The range really has something for everyone. I will keep putting these to the test, over the coming months. So far CBD is my favourite with Caffeine as a close second. These are the two that work best for my dry, sensitive skin.
