Animal-Themed Nursery Gallery Wall From Poster Store
l am so excited to be working with Poster Store again. I really wanted to create a beautiful gallery wall in my baby’s nursery this time around and make his new room totally unique. Choosing posters and frames that really suited our theme and space. Poster Store has a huge selection of illustrations, photography and eye catching prints that really allowed me to create a wall I absolutely love. Their selection of posters and frames that really suited our theme and his room.
In a previous blog post with Poster Store, I discussed how adding the gallery wall over my bed transformed the space and made it feel more homey and lived in. I still love my own gallery wall and I really wanted to have another go at creating a totally unique and adorable gallery wall for my son’s nursery.

Planning the Nursery
Decorating my son’s nursery has been such a fun and enjoyable process. Unfortunelty, I wasn’t organised enough to have it all ready before his arrival. However, since he slept in our room for the first 6 months of his life, it gave me plenty of time to get it ready bit by bit.
I knew I wanted to add some prints to his room, to make it feel more like a baby’s room and break-up the bare wall above his cot. I personally didn’t want to stick too much to one theme. I just choose prints and items I like. If I was going to pin-point the general theme; it’s safari/underwater/space. Yet some how in that mishmash of things it works. The room is neutral and I have gravitated towards softer colours to help tie everything together. With the gallery wall being the focal point of the room, it needed to be eye-catching, cute and make the room feel like a cosy baby’s nursery.
Poster Store – Kids
Poster Store has so many beautiful illustrations and prints for kids. Perfect for children’s rooms of all ages. I found it so hard to pick because I honestly loved so many of the styles and designs. It was great inspiration for me as the gallery wall is such a focal point. I am now more inspired to design more of the room to suit the posters I chose. They have tons of animal designs, alphabet and educational posters and cute phrases too. It’s a great way to make the space express child-like wonder and magic, that every kids bedroom deserves.
Picking the Prints
When I saw the sloth print, I just new I wanted it to be the star of the wall. Sloths are my husbands favourite animal and it’s little face was so sweet, just perfect for a baby’s room. The Safari Life and Ocean Life prints are education and fun and really helped tie the animal/ocean theme together. I loved how the safari print complimented the curtains in his room. The lion I picked to compliment the sloth and because my son always smiles when he see’s lions. Is it to soon to say its his favourite animal? Lastly the little fox with the star balloon was so whimsical and sweet and didn’t feel to match-y to the other prints but complimented them perfectly. It really feels like a set and adds so many cute and fun things for my son to look at.
Poster Layout
In my last blog post with Poster Store – I went into a lot of depth about how I created the layout to ensure my prints would work in the space I had. I used the same method this time around too. I first measured the area above the crib and then scaled that down with bits of scrap paper, to try a few different configurations. I new I wanted to have 4/5 prints to make it feel like a proper gallery and a get a great variety. Once I was happy with my layout and it felt balanced, I checked the measurements of the frames to the space I had and made sure I have enough room for space between the frames as well. Measure twice, cut once as they say! But in the instance its measure twice, buy once.
Getting the layout right can be time consuming but it leaves you with a gallery wall that really looks beautiful, curated and well thought-out. I love mixing sizes to get a visually interesting result. When I knew I had my layout right, I couldn’t wait to get to get the prints on the wall.
To put up my prints, I always use Command Strips. They are so quick and easy and don’t damage the wall. This took about an hour to get up. I hold the frame to the wall, measure, then mark with a pencil on each side before sticking everything down. Having a second pair of hands really helps too.
If you feel stuck, check out the gallery wall section on Poster Store. It can be so great for inspiration on versatile layouts you can recreate in your own home.
A beautiful Space To Watch Him Grow
My husband and I are so thrilled with how this has turned out. It really feels like our son’s room now and has given it so much character and warmth. Watching him discover and look at the details of the prints is so rewarding. Nothing beats the wonder of a child discovering the world. The gallery wall has become the focal point of the room and really catches your eye when you walk in. It’s so cute and cosy and a project well worth the time.
I am always find what I’m looking for on Poster Store. They have an ever growing collection of beautiful prints to inspire and transform any space. Creating these gallery walls is always such a pleasure and it really makes our house feel like home.
