Salon Blow-Dry’s at home in half the time
For the past month, I have ditched my old hairdryer and been testing out the Hot Tools Volumiser Brush and Dryer. I have always struggled to achieve a ‘salon’ blow dry at home. Juggling a round brush and a hair dryer was something I could never get the hang of. As a result, I would end up with a frizzy blow dry, that I had to fix later. Hot Tools came to my rescue and have completely shaken up my haircare.
These products have been sent to me for testing and review purposes. All opinions are my own.
Time to find my hair confidence
I have known about Hot Tools for a few years, seeing their hair tools around online. As a hair novice, I didn’t take much notice of what was out there. It all felt rather intimidating. For those occasions when I wanted to polish my look, I stuck to the basics: a hair dryer and straighteners. I have always had stubborn hair and often ‘given-in’ to what it wanted to do, instead of trying to find a style that I loved and one that elevated my confidence. It wasn’t really until last year when I started experiencing post-partum hair-loss that I really wanted to make a change. I’m trying to find a way to fall in love with my hair and gain confidence since my hair loss. An important factor in all of this being that it needed to be quick and easy. After all, I’m a mum now.
Introducing Hot Tools
Hot Tools has over 30 years of salon experience. They create a variety of high-quality hair tools and accessories. The brand started in the USA and, in recent years, has come to the U.K. and Europe due to high demand. I’m so glad they have! You can also find them at Argos and online at Amazon, among other retailers.
Hot Tools Pro Signature One Step Detachable Volumiser Brush & Dryer | £69.99
The Hot Tools Volumiser Brush allows for easy storage as the brush head is detachable, this also makes it a great travel option. The large oval brush creates volume and allows for an even distribution in heat. Creating a fast drying result. It also has charcoal infused bristles that neutralize odours and absorb toxins. Ion technology fights frizz and promotes fast drying results with less damage. Lastly, but my no means least, the Thermaglide™ Ceramic Coating allows for healthy shiny hair and freshly styled locks.
My new drying routine
I like to first apply heat protection all over my damp hair, then section it into 4 pieces. I then focus on each section until it is fully dry before clipping it out of the way and starting on the next. I find this to be much quicker and ensure a more even and smooth blow dry. There are 3 settings on the Hot Tools Volumiser brush. Because my hair is thick, I start with the II setting (full heat) and finish with the cool setting to lock in my style.
I used to blow dry my hair and then (if I was going to) straighten it the next day. It would take 40 minutes to straighten it alone, and this process would put my hair through twice the heat. From start to finish, with the Hot Tools Volumiser brush, it takes me 15 minutes, and I’m convinced that once I continue to get the hang of it, I’ll be able to reduce that time even more.
The benefits of all-in-one
Besides the huge time saving factor that I have already mentioned. Lets talk more about why I am such a huge fan of the Hot Tools Volumiser Brush.
Hair styling has always been a challenge for me, and with the Hot Tools Volumiser Brush, I feel a lot more confident in achieving the smooth, voluminous style I want. The large oval brush is able to pick up and glide through my thick hair effortlessly. It has two kinds of bristles on the edges, which detangle and slow my hair as I comb through it. This allows the heat to get to work and dry and set my hair as I go. Unlike straightening, where I feel like I’m burning my hair to a crisp, the hot air blowing from inside the brush evenly distributes the heat for a healthy shine. I don’t have to fumble with a huge brush and a blow dryer in each hand because it’s all-in-one. The end is sealed, so I like to use that to hold as well as the handle to give me more control and slowly glide it through my hair. You can also use this on second-day hair to refresh your style.
Hair Happiness With Hot Tools
My hair is less frizzy, faster to dry and my roots are more volumised. I am smitten with the Hot Tools Volumiser Brush. It has really helped me gain confidence in my hair and shape my style. I found it so intuitive to use, and with even more practice, I think I could style my hair with my eyes closed. It’s a fantastic price point (£69.99) for such a multifunctional and high-quality hair tool. It really feels like I’ve been given a salon secret at home. Have you tried Hot Tools?
