No tricks, just Lush treats!
The best time of year is getting closer, the leaves are starting to turn golden brown and there is a chill in the air. It may not be officially Autumn yet but Lush Halloween 2019 is in full swing. Every year I get a few products from the collection and this year was no exception.
A new spooky collection
The collection was released on Friday the 13th, the perfect start to spooky season!
I had stayed clear of spoilers on Instagram to allow myself to be surprised when I saw the new Lush Halloween 2019 collection in person. Usually Lush makes more of a display of their seasonal collections but I felt I had to hunt for products this year. Eventually I pulled out my phone to make sure I wasn’t missing anything.
After deliberating for a while, I left with just four items to try from the Lush Halloween 2019 collection. Maybe it was the amount of repeats, or just the fact its not October yet but I didn’t feel as in the spooky spirit as I usually do.
Still I’m happy with my haul and now a week later and after using everything but my Monster’s Ball, I feel more ready for Autumn. I will always be a Lush Halloween girl, so without further ado, here’s a run down of this years collection!
Lush Monster’s Ball Bath Bomb | £5.50
Monsters ball has made a reappearance, which is great for fans like me. He has had a slight makeup over from last year, and is looking darker and more vibrant in colour. As Monsters Ball is my favourite Lush Halloween bath bomb of all time. I would even go as far to say, one of my favourite bath bombs, period! I have decided to save this one for now. If you are curious to read more about Monster Ball, I reviewed it in lasts years haul. You can catch up here. It’s pink, it’s blue and it smells divine, I love everything about this bath bomb.
Lush Lord of Misrule Bath Bomb | £4.50
I skipped on the Lord of Misrule bath Bomb last year. So I felt it was a good time to try it again. I do love this bath bomb, the scent is unique and perfect for this time of year. The main scent notes are patchouli and black pepper and it really smells woody and little spicy to me.
The pale green exterior quickly cracks open, to release a dark burgundy coloured fizzer that turns your whole bath the colour of mulled wine. The green shell is a bit of a slower fizz but once broken open, your water changes colour quickly. I do enjoy this bath bomb a lot, it’s colourful and a potent but an enjoyable scent. A thumbs up from me and I’m glad it’s made a return.
Lush Punkin Pumpkin Bath Bomb | £4.95
Punkin Pumpkin was my gamble choice, and the only bath bomb out of my haul I hadn’t tried before. I say gamble choice because it does have a mild cinnamon scent which usually isn’t my thing.
It smells more like pumpkin spice, then an imitation autumn candle and although more spicy then I usually go for, I really enjoyed the scent as it didn’t smell artificial or enhanced. I think the lime notes helped with this.
As it stays one colour, it’s not the best for bath art but I still enjoyed watching it whizz around and once it was done, my water was clear but bright, like orange jelly. All-in-all not a bad bath bomb, I loved this little pumpkins face, and it definitely embodies everything great about this season. Although I wouldn’t rush out to buy another, I don’t feel ripped off either.
Lush Glow Worm Fun | £4.95
I’ve been curious to try Fun for a while now. When I saw that the Glow Worm edition did in fact, glow in the dark, I jumped straight on it. My expectation of this being a good bath/shower product were low. Since I felt the main appeal was that you could shape and mould it like Playdough, I wasn’t sure how it would work to actually wash with.
I must say I was wrong, this instantly emulsifies when in constant with warm water. Becoming a slightly bubbly, soft creamy consistency.
After using once, I decided to take it out of the wrapper and smush it into an empty Lush tub, which was the right call as it is messy when wet. To use, I pinch a bit off at a time and use that instead of shower gel. Given that this is smaller than the average roll of Fun, I predict this will last around 4-5 showers. My only complaint is that I do find this a little drying for my sensitive/dry skin. Still it has a fresh and enjoyable lemon and lime scent and as the name would suggest is a lot of fun!
What I didn’t get from the Lush Halloween 2019 collection:
Lush Mercury Retrograde | £4.95
I loved the look of this bath bomb and the name is adorable but it was a little to spicy smelling for me so I gave it a miss. I do think it would look really cool dropped into a bath though with swirls of orange, green, purple and black.
Lush Pumpkin Spice Lip Scrub | £6.50
If I haven’t have just brought the cookie dough lip scrub just a few weeks before hand, I would have jumped on this. Lush’s lip scrubs are so delightful and they also have the nicest flavours. I’m sure this would be a winner.
Lush Boo! Shower Slime | £12.00
I gave this a smell in store and it smelt like bubble gum which I did enjoy. I just think this product is more suited to a younger audience, black slime with silver glitter wasn’t quite for me, but the concept is cute.
Bewitched Bubble bar (£5.50) and Ghost In The Dark Soap (£6.00)
Both are returning items that I have tried and loved before. Bewitched I purchased back in 2017, click here to see a throwback haul. It turns the water jet black and creates so many fluffy bubbles. I really enjoyed it and do think its super cute for black cat lovers.
Ghost in the Dark is a pretty cool glow in the dark soap, that I purchased in last years haul, Click here. It smells fresh, like lemon and lime and although I enjoyed it, I found It didn’t last as long as some of Lush’s other soaps.
Sparkly Pumpkin Bubble Bar | £4.95
Sparkly Pumpkin is synonymous with Lush Halloween and yet I have never tired it! I do enjoy a bubble bar so will give it a try one year.
Bubble Bubble
I really enjoyed picking out my Lush Halloween 2019 haul, it’s become a bit of a tradition. This year’s collection didn’t excite me as much as previous years which is why I ended up repurchasing two products from previous hauls. Still, I was happy to have some familiar favourites and return and it definitely got me in the sprite for the season.
Are you picking anything up from this years Lush Halloween collection?
Ahhh I am so excited for autumn!

I was so excited to read this! I bought a few things after reading your Lush review last Halloween and looks like I won’t be leaving the store empty-handed this time around either! Too bad that the glow worm is drying; it is a massive no-no for my skin. But I’ll happily get some fun bath bombs. Mercury retrograde sounds hilarious xx

I totally agree! A must for the cooler months, nothing beats a Lush bath xx
Lord of Misrule looks SO good. I’m not usually a huge fan of overly gimmicky beauty products but the pumpkin is so cute, shame it didn’t provide better bath art x

Oh its so divine, a true classic from Lush! I still enjoyed this little pumpkin. Thanks for reading Sophie xx
I love how into the seasonal holidays that Lush get! Always keeps their ranges fresh and exciting. I’ve been wondering about trying fun too but did think it sounded a bit messy so good idea to pop it in a tub!
Musings & More
Its so great, always gets me in the mood for the season. A tub makes all the difference with Fun, it’s so much more manageable and less messy this way! Hope you get a chance to check out the range xx
