The Fab Pore and More
Soap and glory do more than just bodycare and makeup, they also have an extensive skincare line. I have tried a few of Soap & Glory’s skincare products in the past but felt it was time to dive a little deeper and review more of their line.
*Some of these products have been sent to me for testing and review purposes. All opinions are my own.**Some of the links below are affiliate links, meaning, at no additional cost to you, I will earn commission if you click through and make a purchase.
I have favourites from both S&G’s makeup and body product lines. You can catch up on my two latest Soap and Glory posts; Glitz the Season and Glitz & Makeup to find our more about the range.
S&G for affordability
It rhymes because it’s true. All of these products, are under the £10 mark and often on a 3 for 2 deal. Soap and Glory is amazing for its accessible price point. I love the retro packaging and Soap and Glory do a great job with their appealing scents as well. I realised I had quite a few products from the range, so wanted to share my thoughts with you all in this review.
Skin Type
I feel like there are really gems within the line. Now I will be honest, I don’t feel like all of these products were made for me in mind. I have dry and sensitive skin and as I’m 27 now, ageing is becoming a concern. So I wouldn’t say I was the target market for all of Soap and Glory’s skincare line. However, I do think there are some products that have and still do work really well for me. The Ultimelt which unfortunately, I haven’t got to hand to include in this review. Is a Cleanser I have returned to many times. It’s uncomplicated and effective.
Still even with the words ‘for oily skin’ directly printed on some of these products, I wanted to share my thoughts with you. As you may very well have a different skin type to mine. After using these for awhile, I feel I can make most of Soap and Glory’s Skincare products work for me. Even if they aren’t necessarily suited to me, by using them in moderation.
Peaches and Clean Deep Cleansing Milk | £8
Peach is my favourite fruit, so I’m always excited for anything peach related. The Peaches and Clean Deep Cleansing milk certainly caught my attention. I do have some issues with scented skincare, mainly as it can be an irritant. Although this has quite a strong artificial peach scent and I have sensitive skin, I haven’t experienced any negative reaction from this product.
It has a cream texture and doesn’t change consistency when coming into contact with water. I do prefer creams, balms and oils in my cleanser, as they tend to be less drying then foams and micealler waters.
Second Cleanse
Although this is marketed as a 4 in 1 cleanser, that melts away makeup. In my opinion, this should still be used as a second cleanse. As it can sting around the eyes, and therefore wouldn’t be the best choice to try and remove eye makeup. I have been using it at night after the Clinique Take off the Day Cleansing Balm. It does a good job of making my skin feel clean and clear. I do find it a bit drying but it’s nothing a rich moisturiser doesn’t fix.
For a budget cleanser, I think it’s one of the better I have tried. If you have blemish prone skin, there isn’t really any ingredients in here that are going to be proactive for you. However, I do think it does a good job of keeping my skin clean.
Marvellous Massaging Face Mitt | £4.50
How have I never spoken about the Marvellous Massaging Face Mitt? This is actually something I brought myself and have used and loved for years. It’s one of my all-time favourite beauty tools, so I’m shocked for not mentioning earlier.
I always use the S&G Face Mitt with my cleansers, as this helps clean my pores and resurface my skin. It’s like a manual Foreo Luna, the little silicone bristles really help work the product into my skin. Even my husband uses one. An absolute skincare essential, it makes everything work better and since it’s under a fiver, you have no excuse not to get one.
What A Peeling Purifying Peel off Mask | £4
I have used and enjoyed the What A Peeling Mask before, I do love the peeling sensation, although this can hurt a bit, it is a lot of fun.
This is pepto bismol pink and smells mildly tropical. Great for a slumber party, as they come with two separate application pots. Or if you are too old for them like I am, rope your poor unsuspecting husband in to try it with you.
If you don’t let this dry fully, you are going to have a hard time. To be able to remove it completely and easily it needs to be fully dry everywhere, which can take around 30 minutes.
This can tug a bit as you remove it, but my skin looked super clear and bright afterwards. It’s another product that’s okay once in a while, but it does put your skin through the wringer, so less is more. A bargain buy and does what it says on the tin. My favourite of the masks I have tried from Soap and Glory’s skincare line.
Bright & Beautiful Sheet Mask | £3.50
The Bright & Beautiful Sheet Mask has a really lovely grapefruit scent. It is very wet, so I like to squeeze the mask, as I remove it from the packet. Just to get the excess product off and stop it from dripping. I did manage to keep this one on for a full 20 minutes. As it contains Vitamin C, I was hoping to see more of a brightening effect then I did. I must admit my skin didn’t look much different.
I did have a small patch of dry skin on my face before applying this, and did find it to sting as a result (only in that area). This particular mask wasn’t the best for my sensitive/dry skin, as it did look a bit irritated afterwards, although this reaction did go down quite quickly.
My skin felt more plump but I didn’t notice much of a radiance boost. Although it was cooling which I did enjoy. I can see makeup applying beautifully after this as my skin felt bouncier. So many it’s one for before a night out.
The Fab Pore Pore-Refining Sheet Mask | £3.50
The Fab Pore Sheet Mask really is a skin roller coaster. What do I mean by that? Well, It’s a bit of a rush from start to finish. This sheet mask has a thick gel texture. I again tried to squeeze off most of the product from the mask while removing it, just so that it didn’t drip. I did struggle to unwrap this one, I think because of the thicker gel, it really didn’t want to come apart.
The combination of tea tree, eucalyptus and mint, gives this a strong menthol scent and tingly feeling. I only kept on for 5 minutes instead of 15, as I found the vapours quite intense. Once you remove it, it feels a bit like you have been in a wind tunnel. Despite wearing it for such a short time, I was surprised at what an impact it had on my skin. My pores looked really clean and shrunk in size.
I didn’t expect this to work for me, as it’s really for oily and combination skin but it really did. I’m hesitant to recommend it, as I said it’s pretty intense and something I wouldn’t use myself regularly. I think maybe once every few months, I could see a benefit from a sheet mask like this, but I would advise strapping in, as it’s a ride!
The Fab Pore Purifying Foam Cleanser | £8
The Fab Pore Foam Cleanser thankfully isn’t as intense as the sheet mask. I usually see the word foaming, and run for the hills but in the interest of a full review I gave it a shot. I do think this is more suited to oily/teen skin but it didn’t dry my skin out as much as I expected. The tingly sensation is very mild, which I appreciate and my skin does feel clean afterwards. I personally wouldn’t use this consistently, as I do think it would strip my skin but it’s by no means a bad cleanser. If you need something to help with blemish prone and oily skin, that’s budget friendly, this certainly does the job.
Blot Right Now Blotting Papers | £4
I’m glad to see S&G have come out with blotting papers, as they can be hard to find but a great item to have in your hand bag. The Blot Right Now papers come in a cute sturdy compact, with a mirror and are pre-cut into single-use sheets. In summer, we can all be guilty of getting a bit oily. Even us dry girls, so this is great to have on hand. Take away the shine without adding more makeup to your skin, or use them to control excess product like sunscreen. Works like you hope they would, and a thumbs up from me.
Final Thoughts
There is still so much of Soap and Glory’s skincare I would like to try. Considering most of their products are under the £10 mark, it’s a great range of products to add to your basket as you head for the till. As I said near the beginning of my review I feel not all of these products were made for my skin type in mind but I still think they are fairly adaptable and by no means unusable considering my dry and sensitive skin.
I do really enjoy the What A Peeling mask, It’s a lot of fun and quite satisfying to remove, plus I saw the biggest difference in my skin with it. The Peaches and Clean cleanser also surprised me, it’s gentle and left my skin feeling clean but not stripped, so I will continue to use that up. Lastly how can I not mention the Face Mitt, it’s a serious game changer and a long time Holy Grail beauty tool of mine.
Have you tried Soap and Glory’s Skincare?
I see this every time I visit my local boots and superdrug, but haven’t given em a try before. I like the name of the brand and the eye-catching package. Might give em a try. Thanks for the honest review.

They are often on a deal so worth checking out. Fun for a pamper evening! thanks for reading xx
I have tried a couple of their skincare products and I didn’t really like them. Also they didn’t work for my dry/sensitive skin either. I love some of their body care products though.

I agree, they aren’t geared towards sensitive/dry skin. Although I found the Ultimelt to work better for me, as it wasn’t so fragranced. Still I plan on testing out more, to see if I can find anything else that would work for our skin type xx
This review was so useful! I also have very dry and sensitive skin and although I’m a huge fan of S&G body products, I’ve never tried any of their facial skincare. I love the packaging but I’ve always been concerned that my skin isn’t exactly their target market. The peaches cleanser sounds lovely x

Yay I’m so glad. I wouldn’t say this was the best line for our skin type, I can make it work but there are more gentle/hydrating products out there that I would recommend more for sensitive/dry skin. Still if your curious the peachy cleanser is nice, thanks so much for reading Sophie xx
I do love me a good mask. Agree, I do enjoy the the peeling mask. They are satisfying 🙂 Have not seen these products in the U.S. But will keep an eye out for them. Thank you for sharing.
