Nudestix Nudeskin Skincare Products

Makeup Brand Nudestix have launched a skincare line

I had no idea Nudestix had created a skincare line until a beautifully presented box of products landed on my doorstep. Inside I was delighted to find 5 skincare products revolving around a simple 4 or 5 step daily routine. I have been testing Nudeskin for a few months (I have even finished some of them) and the results are in. The great, the good and the bad. Lets talk about what Nudeskin has to offer.

Nudeskin by Nudestix Skincare Products

Let’s Talk Nudeskin

You may already be familiar with the Nudestix brand. They offer a variety of makeup products in stick form, in a huge range of colours, textures and finishes allowing you to decide the use and purpose. The whole idea being multi-tasking products that are easy to use and transport, in their classic little black tin. It’s minimal and convenient and that philosophy has influenced Nudeskin – their skincare line.

There are currently 5 products in the line that form a quick and easy routine. They are suitable for all skin types (however I feel some are more suited to everyone then others) and are designed to be gender neutral and easy to use.

Nudeskin is made without sulfates, synthetic fragrance or parabens and there products are vegan friendly.

Nudeskin Biodegradable Packaging

Packaging

I love the pastel and neon colour coding used with the range. It’s minimal, cute and functional and allows you to easy grab the product you want without having to read all the labels. You can’t go wrong with a squeeze tube or pump option. It’s such an effective way of distributing product and for both of these reasons the packaging gets a big thumbs up from me.

Biodegradable and Recyclable

Brands being responsible for the manufacturing of their products is so important to me. Reducing plastic is very needed in the beauty community and I love to see things like biodegradable or plastic free options. The clear outer packaging for Nudeskin is biodegradable and the tubes themselves are fully recyclable. It’s a great step in the right direction.

Nudeskin Step 1 Citrus Clean Balm

NUDESKIN Citrus Clean Balm and Make-Up Melt | £28

Step 1 in the Nudeskin routine is the Citrus Clean Balm and Make-up Melt. This does have a fragrance inspired by aromatherapy. It contains rosehip fruit oil and vitamin A to help minimise fine lines. There is also fruit essential oils (Litsea Cubeba) to help with seabum control and reduce excess shine. Unfortunelty, I didn’t get on with this one. As I have dry skin, oil control isn’t a goal for me so I might just chalk it up to this wasn’t the right formula for my skin.

I only double cleanse when I have been wearing makeup or heavy sunscreen (reapplying). It’s a thick balm consistency and a neon yellow colour. The pros, it melts quickly into the skin and isn’t drying. However, I find I have to use it twice to remove all traces of makeup from my face. It also burns my eyes which means I have to use a separate eye makeup remover, and honestly I just want to keep it simple. It does work, just in my opinion not very well and for the price point there are other makeup removers I prefer.

Nudeskin Step 1 Gentle Hydra-gel face cleanser

NUDESKIN Gentle Hydra-Gel Face Cleanser | £18

This review has taken me so long I’ve actually finished the Gentle Hyrda-Gel Face Cleanser. Although, I could frame it as a good thing because now you really know what I think. First of all, I love the texture. It’s a gel that stays a gel even when wet. It’s gentle and doesn’t leave my skin feeling stripped. I like to use this as my morning cleanse as it is so light.

Enriched with Bergamot oil, for its antibacterial and antiseptic properties and hyaluronic acid for deep hydration, it’s a winning combo for clear and clean skin. Free from sulphates, gluten and synthetic fragrances and it is vegan too. A lovely light cleanser for all skin types, including sensitive. I think this would be a winner for young adults especially. Smells great, looks great and does a great job of cleansing my skin.

Nudeskin Step 2 5% Citrus Fruit & Glycolic Glow Toner

NUDESKIN 5% Citrus Fruit and Glycolic Glow Toner | £23

Glycolic acid has been a long time favourite ingredient in my skincare routine and the 5% Citrus Fruit and Glycolic Glow Toner has been a great addition to my routine. I like to use this at night as glycolic acid can make your face more sensitive to the sun (I always wear spf daily – even in gloomy weather). Glycolic acid and fruit acid helps to buff away dead skin cells to brighten, unclog and reveal smoother skin. I have dry/sensitive skin and I am able to use this 3-4 times a week without any irritation. It really improves the texture of my skin and makes it noticeably feel softer.

I love the pump on this, it’s the kind where you you don’t have to tip it upside down. Just press the pump and the product comes up the top, it’s so satisfying to use! One quick swipe on a reusable cotton round after cleansing is all you need. If you have oily skin this toner can help with sebum control as well. A product all skin types can benefit from to brighten your skin and improve texture.

   	 NUDESTIX Lemon-Aid Detox & Glow Micro-Peel

NUDESKIN Lemon-Aid Detox and Glow Micro-Peel | £28

Detoxify your pores with the Lemon-aid detox and glow micro-peel. I love an instant peel and this makes my skin lovely and smooth after every use. I like to use it 2 times a week to help clear my pores and illuminate my skin. It has a very gentle abrasion that once you start to work into the skin, the texture changes and pills up. The before and after is so noticeable and immediate with this product. My skin looks and feels renewed and brighter. I love the citrus scent it smells exactly like fresh lemons. Micro-peels are amazing for transforming the skin and giving you a smooth clear canvas to work with. I really love how gentle and effective this is.

Nudeskin Step 4 Citrus-C Mask & Daily Moisturizer

NUDESKIN Citrus-C Mask and Daily Moisturiser | £31

Saving the very best for last, my favourite product from the line is the Citrus-C Mask and Daily Moisturiser. I love everything about this moisturiser. As its a 2-in-1 mask and moisturiser, it takes moisture to the next level. It deeply hydrated my skin with comfort that lasts. You can certainly smell the turmeric in this, it’s a strong scent so might not be for everyone but I personally don’t mind it. The Yuzu Oil contributes vitamin C which works to brighten your complexion. I love the lit from within glow that this gives.

If you have dry and sensitive skin I really recommend this. It helped repair my damaged skin barrier and prove comfort to my skin. It’s rich, yet my skin drinks it up leaving it feeling soft and smooth without that dreaded greasy finish. The Citrus-C mask also makes a great base for makeup and if you want to use it as a more intensive treatment, try a thicker layer at night. A really great 2-in-1 product that gets a thumbs up from me.

Glowing Skin For The Win

I always have mixed feelings when makeup brands branch into skincare. I think Nudestix have gone about it in totally the right way. A small selection of products that make total sense for their philosophy and style. Nudeskin products are well thought-out and great for a wide range of skin types. I think the price point and aesthetic is totally right for their audience. I have also found a few favourites within the line too which is always a win. If you love a minimal routine with a focus on glowing skin, give these a try. If you do try them my top two products are the Citrus-C Mask and Daily Moisturiser and the Lemon-aid detox and glow micro-peel.
