A members beauty club
I have been wanting to try Beauty Pie for a while and I’m so glad I finally have. I have a three months subscription, so I will be posting at least two more hauls in the upcoming months. Beauty Pie is a buyers club with a range of makeup, skincare, body, hair care, fragrances and candles to choose from.
Some of the links below are affiliate links, meaning, at no additional cost to you, I will earn commission if you click through and make a purchase.
I have been putting these products to the test for over 2 weeks now, so this is still more of a first impressions then a full on review. I have certainly formulated some opinions in this time nonetheless, and I can’t wait to share with you what I picked for my first Beauty Pie Haul.
Beauty Pie is available in the UK and Mainland USA!
How it works
To buy from Beauty Pie you need a subscription. There are different tiers, ranging from £5 a month to £99 a year. A membership allows you to buy products at a member’s price. Each membership has a spending cap for each month. Then each product has a typical price and a member’s price. It sounds a little confusing but the website does the calculations for you. Essentially the typical price is what affects your spending cap, and the members price is what you pay.
Breakdown:
For my haul I had a spending cap of £150 for my first month.
The prices in bold is what effected my spending cap. The prices in italics is what I paid.
Super Active Capsules: Typical Price £50 – Members Price £10.12
One Powder Wonder: Typical Price £26 – Members Price £5.62
Japan Fusion Hydra Prep Lotion: Typical Price £25 – Members Price £7.08
Quick Colour Contour supergel: Typical Price £22 – Members Price £5.30
Futurelipstick Luxe Shine: Typical Price £20 – Members Price £4.88
When I was done, I had £7 left of my spending cap, this should roll over to next month.
I paid £33.00 + £3.36 for shipping + £10 for membership, making my haul a final price of £46.36 for my first month.
Why did it take me so long to try Beauty Pie?
Well to be truthful it was the commitment aspect. Unlikely other brands when you can place an order whenever you like, there is more commitment with a buyer club. As you are paying monthly for a subscription, and you are limited to how much you can buy within that monthly period. It does require some planning ahead, and a desire to buy from them several times over. So basically I waited until I knew I was happy to commit to three purchases, and had enough products I wanted to try to make it worth my while.
Superactive Capsules Pure 3% Resveratrol Mircosponge + Exotic Fruit Oils | £50/£10.12
This was the biggest cost in my haul, as it took one third of my allotted membership allowance for the month (many of the skincare products are higher in value on the Beauty Pie website). I knew I wanted to try these, so I was happy for it to be my big item, and £10 for a serum is seriously a good deal.
I have tried the Elizabeth Arden Retinol Ceramide Capsules in the past, which I absolutely loved and I was curious to see how these would compare considering they are a 5th of the price. These aren’t as squishy as the Elizabeth Arden ones but I have been told are made of algae, so are biodegradable. A relief to me, as they feel plastic so I was worried they couldn’t be recycled.
The load down
One bottle has 60 capsules, the time it will last depends on how many you use a day. I have been using one in the morning and one at night so this should last me one months. One capsule is the equivalent of one pump of serum, I find it more than enough for my face. You can use an extra one on your neck and décolletage, and even the back of your hands if you choose too as well.
The Superactive capsules contain exotic fruit oils – pomegranate, pequi and raspberry. They are cruelty free and vegan which is always a plus. A lot going on for one little capsule. In short, they fight collagen-loss, skin pigmentation and sun damage, all of which can cause signs of ageing. There are three other kinds of Superactive capsules on the Beauty Pie website, so I’m tempted to try another formula to see how they compare.
My Thoughts
The texture is mattifying and feels a lot like a pore filling primer. I don’t find them drying, although I do notice the texture change when I’m applying moisturiser afterwards. So far I have really been enjoying these, they haven’t cause any negative reactions in my sensitive skin, or broken me out. I can’t speak for the long term benefits as its only been a fortnight but I will definitely be continuing to use these until I have finished the jar as I really enjoy them so far.
One Powder Wonder Translucent Powder | £26/£5.62
I know it’s hard to get excited about a translucent powder but One Powder Wonder had a lot of 5 star reviews, and I was very low on powders in my collection so I thought, let’s go for it. The compact is really minimal and sleek and gives me Bobbi Brown vibes.
When you dip your brush into this, there is zero kick-up. I was actually convinced there was a spray over, as nothing was happening when I swirled my brush in. In truth, this is just a very fine and compacted powder, which means only a tiny amount is transferred onto your brush. Still it does a great job of setting my base without it looking dry or heavy, so a great powder for dry skin.
This does have very fine micro shimmer, which doesn’t turn you into a glitter ball, it just gives a healthy looking glow to the skin. Honestly it’s virtually undetectable. I am really enjoying this powder, it’s lightweight, long wearing and doesn’t make me look cakey, I can’t believe how good it is for under £6!
Japanfusion Step M1: Hydra Prep Lotion | £25/£7.08
The millennial pink bottle combined with the words hydration, were enough to sell this on me completely. The Japanfusion range is what convinced me to sign up with Beauty Pie, as I was so curious about this particular line. Hydra prep is a take on an Asian beauty must have. A hydrating and nourishing essence that you apply after cleansing, and before everything else. Containing antioxidant jabara citrus (similar to yuzu) and grape extracts to plump, deeply nourish and hydrate the skin.
Texture and Application
This has the constancy of water, so I find the easiest way to apply it is a few drops in my hand, and then pat it over my skin. You can use cotton rounds or reusable cotton pads but they do absorb a lot of the product, so I find it easier and less wasteful to just use my hands. As this essence is such a light texture, once applied it dry’s down immediately.
I have been using this day and night for the past two weeks, so its still early days. My high hopes for this, so far haven’t been let down. I love the feel of it on my skin. Although I haven’t seen any long time improvements in my skins elasticity and general hydration, it does always feel more plump after application. Most importantly I haven’t experienced any negative side effects; such as breakouts, irritation or sensitivity. Its been amazing for my dry and sensitive skin, and like I have said with every products so far, how is something this good under a tenner?
Quick Colour Contour Supergel | £22/£5.30
I must admit I’m not usually one for contouring, I can count on one hand the amount of times I have made the effort this year. That’s why I was so curious about the Quick Colour Contour, as it literally has ‘quick’ in the title. There are two shades to choose from and I chose the lighter of the two, soft brown.
You do need to twist the tip before you can use it, I won’t admit how long I was squeezing the tube forcefully before I realised. Once opened the tinted gel comes through the cushion tip and you can dot this straight onto the areas you want to contour. Making it really precise and great for beginners.
I can see why this is called quick colour, as it really is so fast to blend out to a super natural looking contour. I really am impressed with how easy this is to use, I always worry about going overboard with contour. As this is a gel I find it to be easier to blend and sheerer in tone, making it is harder to overdo. Not something I am going to use daily but I am glad to have this in my collection.
Futurelipstick Luxe Shine In Master Sweet | £20/£4.88
I feel like you don’t know a brand until you try their lipsticks. When I saw this peachy toned nude from the Futurelipstick range, it sealed the deal. This is a high-shine moisturizing lipstick that contains coconut and avocado oils. I can confirm it feels very comfortably on the lips and not at all drying.
The Bullet shape of the Futurelipsticks makes it really easy to apply without a lip liner. This just glides on smoothly, making an even application easy to achieve. I have been wearing this daily as it’s a perfect everyday shade. The wear-time is better than I anticipated for such a glossy formula, however if you are eating or drinking then it will need to be reapplied.
Although not a total dupe for Fresh Lip Treatment there are some similarities in texture and shine. The Beauty Pie formula is not quite as emollient, and does contain micro shimmer, although this is hard to detect on the lips. The appearance on the lips is very similar, the way this glides on made me immediately think of the Fresh Lip Treatment.
Mastersweet is a gorgeous shade, it brings life to my complexion. The appearance on my lips is so juicy and it doesn’t emphasis lines or textures. Like I mentioned, if your not eating or drinking you can get a few hours wear out of this. An amazing lipstick and one I have been reaching for non-stop.
Back for a second slice?
If you are new to Beauty Pie it can sounds confusing and a little over whelming. It’s unlike a usual online beauty store, where there is one price and you can buy from them anytime. I do think it’s worth getting over that hurdle though, as there is a huge range of quality products to enjoy for very reasonable prices. The fact I paid less than £50 (including membership) for everything in this haul including skincare is pretty astounding to me.
Nothing has disappointed me from my haul but if I had to pick favourites, I would say the Japanfusion Hydra Prep Lotion and Futurelipstick in Mastersweet get my top vote. I’m excited to try more from the brand and bring you a new haul in a few weeks time.

What do you think of Beauty Pie, would you subscribe to a members only site for beauty?
I’ve heard so much about Beauty Pie but I’ve never tried them myself either. The prices always blow me away. The membership aspect is a little confusing, but it sounds like a great service. It looks like you got some amazing products x
Sophie
I really can’t get over how affordable these products are for the high quality, of course the catch is, you need to be a Member. But I definitely feel it was worth it so far. It makes a lot more sense when you add things to your basket as you it does all the calculating for you. I did have to read through everything a couple of times to get my head around it though! So pleased with everything I picked up. xx
Th packaging looks really pretty

So sleek and gorgeous, I love the simplicity of the packaging xx
Great post.
I’ve been a pie member since January and really enjoyed trying their skincare products so far with great results. I’m really interested in the resveratrol capsules, already have the vitamin C ones, they’re great. I’m not sure where to add them into my routine, is resveratrol something you replace retinol with?
Thank you so much, so glad to hear you have been a long time subscriber, I’m excited for my next haul. Resveratrol is an antioxidant where Retinol is made from vitamin A, you can use both but need to wear spf as they make you more sensitive to the sun. You may feel your skin favours one ingredient over the other, so its worth testing xx
I keep hearing nice things about this brand, but have to agree – I have so many memberships going on, I am reluctant to get another one. But! Knowing that nothing in this haul was disappointing is great news. I love the shade of the lipstick you got and it is nice that they have skincare options as well. All in all, a line worth exploring. Thanks for the review, Sam! xx

I am so glad I did as I really do enjoy everything but I am with you, finding a subscription window as a beauty blogger can be hard! Mastersweet is a seriously gorgeous shade, I’m tempted to grab another as the formula is great. Their skincare really has impressed me, I will definitely be tying some more. Thanks so much for reading Naya xx
I’ve heard about Beauty Pie before, and it does sound like a great service! It does seem confusing though, and something you’d need to wrap your head around first. The products do seem good though, I love the look of the lipstick xx

It took me awhile to learn fully how it works, adding thing to my basket really made the difference as it works everything out for you. Worth the learning curve though, as everything is so high quality and incredibly reasonably priced! Thanks for reading xx

So happy with everything I have tried, can’t wait to try more from the brand! xx
I’ve been curious about this brand/retailer for so long but have hesitated to try them out because of the monthly fees. Glad to know that their products still work well despite the low cost, it seems like if you order regularly the value is incredible! Looking forward to more of your reviews from them!
♥︎ Geeky Posh
I think that’s definitely the trick, a yearly subscription would take the pressure off feeling like you have to buy every month but would still give you the same amount of buying power. I really impressed so far and looking forward to my next haul which should be arriving soon xx
Superb post Sam!
I am so glad you got round to trialling Beauty pie as I got to try them from the first launch day and its nice to see how they have grown as a brand. Their skincare in my eyes in just fabulous and there is much here that I haven’t tried that are calling to me! Enjoy Sam! xx
They really have evolved and their collection is so impressive now, I was literally spoilt for choice. Beauty pie skincare is incredible! I can’t wait to do my next haul later this month. Thanks so much for reading Kelly xx
