Natural and Healthy Cosmetics

Freshly Cosmetics Skincare has been a part of my routine since February and they are long overdue a review on my blog. I have become a huge fan of this natural focused line for their innovative products that always exceed my expectations. I can’t wait to share some reviews of everything I have tried so far.

If you follow me on Instagram you may recognise some of these photos. I have been using Freshly Cosmetics for almost a year now and it’s criminal that I haven’t dedicated a blog post to this amazing brand before now.

New to Freshly Cosmetics?

Let me introduce you.

The brand originated in Spain but has been available in the UK since February 2019. They have a large range of skincare, bodycare, hair care and products especially for children. The most important thing to know about Freshly Cosmetics is that this is a very natural (99% at least), none of which are tested on animals, all are vegan and their packaging is 100% recyclable.

More than that, something I really commend about the brand, is how they don’t over pack when they ship your product to you. Everything comes in un-coated card packaging and is snugly packed as to not waste space. An area of sustainability that can sometimes be overlooked.

Lastly their products are innovative, packed with amazing ingredients, many of which are multi-faceted and the price point is really reasonable for everything that goes into their products.

Rose Quartz Facial Cleanser | £16

The Freshly Cosmetics Rose Quartz Cleanser was my first product to try from the range. I have used a full bottle of this and was kindly sent a backup too, so I feel like I have a really firm opinion on this cleanser.

The Rose Quartz cleanser is soap free which is so important for my dry skin. It’s a very light, ever so slightly-foaming, jelly cleanser. Foaming is usually a no-no for me but as it is soap free, I haven’t noticed any dryness or tightness from this. Lotus flower, almond and virgin chia oils, deep cleanse and give luminosity to my skin while keeping it clean and clear. The natural blend really doesn’t aggravate or upset my skin, it just works without stripping away the natural oils.

I really enjoy this cleanser, as it is so light I have used it both as a morning cleanser and as a second cleanse in the evening. It cuts through oil and balm cleansers really well, so everything is removed from my face ready for next steps. I use about two pumps at a time and one bottle lasted almost half a year so it’s great value too. I would recommend this for all skin types especially those with combination or dry skin. 

Red Velvet Oil Serum | £31

Another product I have finished up is the Red Velvet Oil Serum. I am already missing this miracle elixir. It is rich and greasy but amazingly hydrating for dry skin, I used this exclusively at night time and by morning my skin was hydrated and radiant.

15 plant derived oils, one of them being rosehip, contribute to the beautiful natural red colour and fabulous blend. Its main goals are to treat wrinkles, scars, blemishes, redness and inflammation. I love the dropper, it makes it easy to not go overboard. This does naturally separate overtime so be sure to shake it.

I really did enjoy this oil, it’s very gentle and unbelievably hydrating, and with every use my skin really did glow. Great if you are looking for a multi-result treatment product, in one step.

Green Vitamin Concentrate Serum | £31

The Green Vitamin concentrate serum, just like the Energy C facial mask contains kakadu plum for a high concentration of vitamin C. It has a syrupy texture and a natural scent of apple, apricot, melon, vanilla and mint.

This is so light and my skin just drinks it up, it’s also gentler then a lot of other vitamin c serums I have tried. I really love the effects of this on my skin, it just looks better the more I use this. Vegan hyaluronic acid makes it a great one for the winter months too. I have been using this morning and night and noticed my skin look smoother, brighter and feels bouncier thanks to the lipo-filling effects of black tea. This has become a top favourite serum for me. I think the price point is really reasonable for a serum of this quality and calibre and more importantly my skin just loves it.

Bloom Orchid Face Cream | £26

The Bloom Orchid face cream is blooming brilliant. See what I did there? This has a rich gel like texture that gives my skin a super bouncy feel. The long lasting hydrating effects make my makeup apply effortlessly. I have really noticed an increase in collagen production since using this which is something I just did not expect.

The claim is to increase skin hydration by 115% due to hyaluronic acid, salicornia and xerophytes plants. Well I can say that’s definitely been actuate for me, as throughout the day I find my skin looks and feels less dry and tight. Ingredients such as red algae and Mexican agastache aid to reduce redness and inflammation.

I love this face cream, it has a very similar scent to the deliciously fruity concoction in the Green Vitamin Serum. They make for a perfecting pairing and a really great option of sensitive and dry skin. If you are oily I think you would enjoy this too, as it’s not at all greasy due to the gel texture.

Energy C Facial Mask | £23

Bright and packed with natural vitamin C derided from Kakadu Plum, the Energy C mask is one for the glow chasers. The smell of this mask promises to; ‘soak you in a pleasant fruit salad of apricot, melon, apple, vanilla and mint’ doesn’t that just sound heavenly? The goal of this mask is to give smooth, luminous and revitalised skin while repairing wrinkles by 17%.

I unfortunately had a reaction to this mask the first time I tried, and so didn’t want to risk using it again. My skin turned very red, but interestingly wasn’t burning at all. I’m not sure what ingredient in this mask specifically caused the redness, as this is the only product from Freshly Cosmetics that has caused this. If you do have sensitive skin like I do, I would advise caution with this one in particular. Such as shame as luminosity is always a skincare goal of mine.

Cherry Blossom Facial Mask | £23

The beautiful lilac shade of the Cherry Blossom face mask called to me immediately. Its has a creamy jelly like texture that is easy to spread and feels super cooling on the skin. The natural scent of Japanese cherry blossom is so divine and overall I find this to be a really enjoyable mask to use.

It treats itching, burning irritation and inflammation by 79% in just 5 minutes. I have never tired a treatment mask like this before. How? An impressive list of ingredients such as Sempervivum, Tasmania pepper, Candeia tree bark and Mexican agastache. Another big noteworthy perk of this mask is that it can increase hydration by 206% (anyone else love stats as much as I do?). Thanks to the instantaneous action of salicornia, microalgae and açaí fruit. Freshly always has an impressive list of natural and potent ingredients and this mask is no exception.

Emerald Clay Facial Mask | £23

Last but by no means least, we have the Emerald Clay face mask. Even with my dry skin I still love a clay mask and the fresh natural kiwi scent and rich emerald colour makes for a divine mask experience. Packed with bamboo active charcoal, white clay, broccoli enzymes red and spirulina and seaweed. It reads like a green juice for the skin. Clay masks are great for controlling sebum, treating acne and eliminating impurities in the skin.

My skin always looks brighter and feels deeply cleared out when I use this. I find it to be a very gentle clay mask without stripping the skin of all moisture but still giving me all of those fabulous benefits from a top tier clay mask such as this.

A great one for the t-zone or everywhere if you have oilier skin. May cause temporary appearance of the Hulk.

Certified Fresh

I have absolutely loved exploring and trying this brand. I have also tried their body scrub which I adore but I felt it didn’t fit into this skincare focused blog post, so you will have to take my word for it. If you are looking for a more natural skincare range that contains a multitude of superfoods to really make a difference in your skin look no further. Freshly Cosmetics is a brand I really admire and adore. The mid-range price point is amazing value for the quality and longevity of their products. I feel like I swap my answer on what is my favourite product every week but at the time of writing this post, my top pick is the Green Vitamin Serum.
