Birchbox April 2018

Brighten up your day!

This month’s Birchbox box arrived a little later then usual due to Easter, but it made for a great middle of the month pick me up. Especially since I’ve been trying not to buy too much beauty until after I move house.

I have been subscribed to Birchbox for 5 months now. For £10 a month + £2.95 postage, I think the subscription is amazing value and has introduced me too so many new brands and products that I love. Last months box March 2018 was my absolute favourite to date, but as always I was excited to see what was in store!

April’s box was in honour of Cath Kidston’s 25^th birthday. The beautiful rose pattern is instantly recognisable as Cath Kidston and I had seen on Birchbox’s Instagram page that everyone would be receiving a hand cream to mark the occasion.

Model Co Baked Highlighter in Moonshine 1.5g | £24 for 3.5g

As always, you are able to pick between 2 product options if you would like too for next month’s box. This time we were able to pick either Moonshine or Frose as our Baked Highlighter shade from Model Co. I must admit, I did have a giggle to myself when I first saw how tiny this highlighter is. It’s a very pretty pale apricot shade that offers a nice amount of sheen on the cheekbones. Getting my brush into this tiny pan is a challenge though.

Parlor Voluminzing Lifting Spray 30ml | £18.50 for 147ml

I haven’t tried anything from the brand Parlor before. The Volumizing Lifting spray is a very generous sample size and I’m willing to give anything a try that promises a boost to my flat hair. It has a fruity scent and can be sprayed into semi-dry hair at the roots to give a lift. I look forward to  giving this a try.

Beautaniq Beauty Fill + Tame Brow Gel 4ml | £8.60 Full size

The Beautaniq Beauty Fill + Tame Brow Gel has the cutest packaging. It has a tiny brush similar to the Benefit Gimme Brow. I received the shade Brunette which is a perfect match for me. I noticed a good amount of hold and my brows do look fuller and thicker. Its definitely a product I’m going to continue to use.

Cath Kidston Posy Hand Cream 30ml | £2.50 Full size

The Cath Kidston Posy Hand cream is a Birchbox exclusive. Fragranced with jasmine, orange flower and vanilla this hand cream has a divine scent. I love the packaging (of course!) and this dinky size is perfect for popping in your hand bag. It feels rich and hydrating on the skin and doesn’t leave my hands feeling sticky. I get through hand cream at an alarming rate, so a new tube is always appreciated.

Birchbox Brush Cleaner | £5 Full size

The Birchbox Brush Cleaner has a corrugated texture to help clean your brushes. It’s a soft rubber that is easy to keep clean and reuse. I currently use a brush egg to help clean my brushes which looks and feels very similar. Still, I’m happy to receive it, I know it will help to clean brushes and the pink is super cute.

This month’s box was a bit middle of the road for me, there definitely are some good products within it, but it didn’t quite compared to last months box. The beautiful Cath Kidston box really stole the show and will be a keepsake for sure. I am still looking forward to next month’s box because I think the quality and value is always there.
