Bath products to win any heart

This year’s Lush Valentines collection has got to be my favourite yet. When I saw the emoji bath bombs shared online, I knew I wouldn’t be able to resist them. I asked for a few products from the collection for my birthday, so I didn’t break my no-buy and this is what I chose.

Talk about spoilt for choice. I’m a huge Lush fan as you know, but this year I think Lush really out did themselves for their Valentines Collection. Who wouldn’t be smitten with a peachy bath bomb?

If I could have brought everything in the collection, I would have done without skipping a beat. It’s not often everything in a collection appeals to me. The Valentines range is; fruity, pink and super cute. It just spoke to me.

After a bit of deliberation, these are the four products I chose!

American Cream Shower Gel | 250g £11.95

Why has it taken me so long to try a product from the American Cream range? The scent ticks every box for things I love. I believe the first product to come out, was the hair conditioner (still need to try!). There is also a American Pie body conditioner with the same scent, which I was extremely tempted by.

Fresh Strawberry, orange juice and sweet vanilla, makes this shower gel smell like a delicious milkshake. The scent is sweet but not sickly and smells like cream candy. I find it really transforms, upon lathering and reminds me of Parma violets.

I did deliberate back and forth between the bottle and naked shower gel version of American Cream. If I didn’t have a Snow Fairy naked shower gel already on the go, I probably would have chosen the naked version instead. However, I do find the bottle versions; last longer, lather better and are less messy. The plastic is an issue for me but at least it isn’t virgin and can be easily recycled.

Overall, I adore this shower gel. It was a tough choice between this and the Avocado wash, which is also a part of the collection but I think I make the right choice. The pastel pink is so pretty and this shower gel smells just divine. Definitely a winner.

Peachy Bath Bomb | £3.95

Peachy certainly has had its fair share of buzz, when it was announced. How could it not, not only is it cute as button and a little cheeky too. The fresh peach, grapefruit and davana oil gives it the scent I hoped it would, a delicious ripe peach. It wouldn’t be a Lush haul without a bat hbomb and although it initially sold out rather quickly, I was relived to see it came back in stock not long after.

Peach is my favourite fruit, so I just knew I had to try this for myself. It didn’t fizz quite as elegantly as the Aubergine bath bomb, as I found it broke up quite quickly after hitting the water. Peachy left soft swirls of pastel sunset colours, on top of the water. Which felt totally appropriate for its peachy theme. I was surprised how neon, peachy-pink my bath water turned, after it had fully dissolved. The perfect, punchy-peach and the scent was just divine.

Peachy wasn’t as vibrant, as I hoped but I still loved it and really hope it makes a reappearance next year, as it’s just too cute. I would also be very on board with a few more products, being released with the peach fragrance.

The Big Banana Massage Bar | £5.95

When I first saw this online, I was presumed it would have a strong banana scent. However, The Big banana has quite a fragrant spicy scent. Which I must admit, isn’t something that normally appeals to me. As you massage it into the skin, the scent transform to be more warm and aromatic and reminds me of a baked banana bread. The main ingredients are; fresh banana, cocoa butter and clove bud oil. The clove scent is the strongest but I enjoy it a lot more than I thought I would.

I love the texture of Lush’s massage bars. They gently melt into the skin, leaving it soft and nourished. The oils really linger, making it an amazing winter skin treat. I don’t find this to be a greasy product, it’s more of a dry oil texture.

You can use The Big Banana again and again, making it a really great buy. It’s luxurious, hydrating and quite sophisticated, despite its comical appearance. As I have dry skin, I love anything that is going to give it some hydration without irritation. I’m a huge fan and hope The Big Banana makes a reappearance next year.

Aubergine Bath Bomb | £3.95

I couldn’t help but giggle, the first time I saw the unmistakable Aubergine Bath bomb! Although it does contain fresh aubergine (eggplant) the notes of bergamot and tonka absolute, gives this a fresh scent with a slight vanilla undertone. It doesn’t smell like vegetables at all and is really enjoyable and largely appealing.

I was so pleased to see Aubergine is a really slow fizzer, which allowed me to appreciate the beautiful rich swirls of colour. Absolute stunning tones of green, blue and purple combined, to create an almost galactic themed bath. After it dissipated,  my bath water the dark aubergine purple shade I hoped for.

Aubergine left my skin feeling silky soft and although there is very fine (non-plastic) shimmer within in this bath bomb, it’s quite subtle and doesn’t linger on your skin when you get out.

This is one to stock up on, I absolutely adore this bath bomb, A++!

Final Thoughts

The Unicorn Horn Bubble Bar and Love Boat Bath Bomb are returning products from last year but I believe everything else is new. If I wasn’t holding back I would have brought them both and likely one of the American Pie body conditioners too. I’m familiar with the American cream fragrance but I must admit, I’m not sure when it first featured. Nevertheless, I’m already a huge fan, so it will be on my radar from now on.

Aubergine is incredible, the bath art it created was just magical. I’m so impressed with the Big Banana massage bar too, it may have converted me to spicy scents. Overall, I loved everything from my haul. The collection is gorgeous, so if you are tempted by anything, run don’t walk, as its selling out fast.
