I know an excursion to a pretty café is out of the question at the moment. But today I thought I would share a throwback trip to when I went to the Godiva Café in Meadow Hall – Sheffield, for a deeply decadent hot chocolate and blueberry cheesecake croissant.
I was going through my phone having a clear out, trying to be productive while we are all staying at home. And I stumbled across these photos from our brunch at the Godiva Café. As popping to a mall for a nice brunch is out of the question for the foreseeable future, I thought it might be fun instead to focus on places we can visit when this is all over, and getting some enjoyment from memories past. I mainly wanted an excuse to check-in and let you know I am doing okay, and more importantly ask how everyone else is holding up in these uncertain times.

I sincerely hope you are all safe and well and finding ways to keep your spirit’s up. I will be back to posting about beauty soon, as it was the overwhelming opinion on Instagram that everyone needed a break from reality. Beauty and photos of pretty things are a great way to do that. Don’t forget, it’s important to escape at least once a day from the news, for our own mental health’s sake. Sending safe distance hugs to my friends around the globe.

Godiva Café – A chocolate paradise
The Godiva Café is a real treat, have you ever seen such an elaborate hot chocolate before! Oh and I should mention this was only £4.95! I couldn’t believe it, I have paid more for a coke in a bar. It’s as rich as it looks, and I definitely hit my sugar cap that day. In hindsight the croissant was probably a bad idea for my sugar levels. But I saw the words ‘blueberry cheesecake croissant’ and I had to have it! I can’t remember the price point for the croissant but it was very similar.
I think for our meal for 2 it came to about £25. A really good price in my opinion for something so luxurious. There was no shortage of options for chocolate and sweet tooth lovers. I hope to go back one day in the future and engorging myself on sweet treats once more. A real Instagram hot spot too; marble tables, beautiful displays and fancy looking food. If only I was better at posing!

Thank you for sharing this from a happier time. And we do indeed need a break from the news. Some influencers have stopped posting ootd looks as it can seem trivial which is understandable. But I think people should continue to write about and post what they want as long as it is not hurtful. We can not all be writing about the virus all the time.

It’s hard to know the right thing to do, but when I did a pole it was the overwhelming opinion it was good to keep some normality and like you said be conscious and considerate of everything that is going on but also talk about your niche as as distraction from it all too. For the moment at least, I am trying to blog as normal as my work life is all over the place, it’s good to have a bit of stability. Hope your staying safe and well xx
