Inspiring my Nursery Décor

A striking and eye catching poster can either perfectly finish a room or inspire an entire décor theme. As we are beginning to think about decorating our nursery for our baby boy’s arrival in April. I spent some time looking through the wide variety of prints on Photowall. Before falling in love with the Water Colour Space poster. Here’s my review of Photowall and the stunning details of this poster.

Introducing Photowall

Photowall Sweden offers high quality and customisable wall murals, wall papers, posters, framed prints and canvases. They have 1000’s of photographs and art pieces to choose from but you can also upload your own image to make your piece even more personal. Not sure where to start? Water Colour Space

I was so blown away with their library it was so hard to choose. I started on the ‘children’s’ library as I knew I wanted something to inspire my nursery and become a feature of the room. As much as I loved the full wall murals, the room is quite small and I felt a poster or canvas would work better.

As soon as I spotted the Water Colour Space poster, I just feel in love with the bright and vivid colours, whimsical design and soft water colour strokes. Making it the perfect poster for our baby to enjoy the colours and shapes even from a young age. I of course selfishly love anything space themed and loved the idea of a combination of space and underwater sea creatures to decorate the room. Inspired by the little goldfish swimming on this print!

We have a soft neutral colour on the walls (Dulux Egyptian Cotton) so the room is rather simple and a great blank canvas. I wanted to create a feature above the changing table which could hopefully catch our babies eye and entertain him while I focus on the all important nappy changes. It also adds some personality to the wall and gives it a cosy nursery feel. It became an instant feature on what felt like a boring wall beforehand.

Dimensions and Appearance

Once I had my design picked, it was time to customise to make it perfect for my room. You can reposition the design and add a border if you like. Then it’s time to pick a size that’s going to work for your wall. I choose 70x50cm which is one of 7 sizes available on this poster. I then measured the space above my changing table to make sure it was the perfect size. It was! Lastly you can then pick to just have the poster or to add the smoked ash wooden hangers.

Delivery and Install

Delivery is super fast, the poster arrived in just two working days for me. I found it super easy to put together. They supply all the fixtures/tools needed to add the frame and the cord, even a nail to fix it to the wall. It took me about 10 minutes to put together. Stress free really!

Delivery is also free to the U.K.

Quality

The quality of this poster is top notch. Printed on 200gsm uncoated paper, it really made the water colour design look even more authentic. There where no imperfections, tears, smudges. It was perfect. The paper used is UV and Age resistant, so I know we can enjoy it for a long time. The hangers can also be reused as they don’t damage the paper. I am really happy with the quality, it looks professional, hung beautiful and even up-close the fine details hold up.

Everything is made to order so nothing has been sitting on a warehouse shelf getting dusty, it’s made just for you.

Making a room a happy Place

I’m so excited to continue decorating the nursery. I can wait to add more décor items around the room to really bring the room to life. It’s such a fun and exiting process and this poster has really inspired me. I am so happy with the Photowall service and highly recommend them for making your space a happy place!
