Trying Fenty Beauty for the first time!
Reviewing my first Fenty Beauty haul. I picked up three makeup products from the hugely popular line to try. Fenty Beauty has been making waves since it launched and I am kicking myself for not trying them sooner. At last I have some thoughts on the products I tried.

An Iconic launch that shook the cosmetic industry
A brand that became a household name from it’s initial launch back in 2017. Fenty Beauty champions inclusivity and addresses a long standing lack of diverse shades especially for darker skin tones within the industry. It’s fair to say Fenty Beauty creator Rihanna shook the cosmetic industry with her initial launch of 40 (now 50) shades of Pro Filt’R foundation. Shockingly so many brands before and sadly still, felt like a range or this scale wasn’t needed or wouldn’t sell. Often ranges favoured lighter skintones with a poor or completely missing range of deeper shades. Rihanna showed the world what it meant to create a brand that was for everyone.
Fenty Beauty is Cruelty-Free
So how has it taken me so long to try Fenty Beauty?
As a beauty lover of course I took notice and I absolutely wanted to try the brand for myself. The two main reason I didn’t jump in at the launch? The original formula of the Pro Filt’R foundation is matte (I have dry skin) and as I didn’t live near a Harvey Nichols I didn’t want to risk picking the wrong shade. Over the past few years Fenty Beauty’s range has grown considerable and still managed to create products to suit every skin tone without compromise. I oohed and aahed at every launch before finally slapping myself on the wrist for waiting so long and placing an order this year.
Gloss Bomb Universal Lip Luminizer | £17
I have become more and more of a gloss person and the Fenty Beauty Gloss Bomb has a big part to play in that. I always heard that the Gloss Bomb was an amazing formula and I’m pleased to report it has certainly lived up to the hype. If there is one shade that always gets mentioned it’s fu$$y so I knew this was one shade I couldn’t pass up.
Fu$$y is described as a romantic pink. It’s a very flattering sheer shade that I think would suit everyone. The subtle shimmer gives a dewy look to the lips without looking like you have kissed a glitter ball. Gloss Bomb has a generous sized doe foot applicator that allows for a quick and easy application. This is a product you can apply without a mirror.
Addictive Shine
So why do I love this gloss so much? Well apart from it being such a beautiful wearable shade, it is very forgiving to dry lips. One swipe and my lips look fuller and smoother and feel hydrated. Hydration is not something I expect from a gloss but it’s great bonus when you can get it. I find this to be in the perfect spot of sticky enough to stay on but still smooth feeling and not stringy. If you’re still not sold… it smells like peaches and vanilla! It’s safe to say I’m obsessed with this and want every shade.
Sun Stalk’r Instant Warmth Bronzer | £25
I don’t have many bronzes in my collection, so I could not resist trying the Sun Stalkr’ bronzer. The shade I picked online was Private Island which once it arrived was much darker than I anticipated. I’m so hopeless at picking out shades online, which is why I never try new foundations in online orders. However, with a light hand I find this works really well for me to give a sun kissed warm glow. Private Island is definitely has a warm undertone, so anyone with cool undertones may find it to red. Never fear Fenty Beauty has so many shades that there will be one for you I promise!
Packaging and formula
There is very little fallout with this bronzer and it’s easy to build the colour up. It’s such a super smooth formula that doesn’t look patchy when blended. The rose gold hexagon packaging is slim, stylish and feels like great quality. There is even a mirror. In short it’s a great high quality matte bronzer at a mid range price!
Full Frontal Volume, Lift & Curl Mascara | £21
I saw the words ‘lift’ and ‘curl’ and I knew I had to give this a try. The Full Frontal mascara has a really unique wand. Imagine a cone that has been flattened. The flat side, allows you to get very close to the root of your lashes without poking your eye out. You can then turn the wand to it’s fuller cone shape to get better length and volume at the tips of your lashes. Fenty has coined this as the ‘flat-to-fat’ brush. It really does allow you to get every angle and every lash coated.
It is also described as a water resistant and longwearing formula. Well needless to say I was very excited. It sounded like everything I wanted in one tube!
So how does it preform?
It’s no secret I am fussy about mascara. It has to not smudge or flake off during the day. If it does, it’s an immediate no from me. I also want big, full and fluffy looking lashes. No pressure! I’ve been using this in very hot weather, so it’s the ultimate test and I’m pleased to say I’ve experienced no smudging or flaking. Even when I felt like I was melting in the sun. I also love how fluffy and and long this makes my lashes. It’s voluminous without being clumpy. I would describe the lash effect as full, lengthened and curled. Everything I want in a mascara. I find it easy to remove with an oil cleanser and it doesn’t irritate my sensitive eyes either.
I’m so happy this has been a winner for me. It’s been a long time since I’ve fallen in love with a mascara. The Fenty Beauty Full Frontal Mascara ticks every box for me. The brush is innovative, the formula gives me big fluffy lashes and my sensitive eyes are happy too. This is one to try out!
Fenty Face
I’m extremely impressed by Fenty Beauty. It’s a line that talks the talk but actually delivers. I have a wish list as long as my arm of additional products I want to try. All three products really impressed me, there isn’t a dud here. I love how inclusive the range is and how every launch without fail caters to everyone. How it should be! I hope it wont be long until another Fenty haul! What is your favourite Fenty Beauty product?

Oooh I love Fu$$y! It’s so flattering even on my not-so-pink lips. I also love their Sun Stalk’r bronzers! The shade Caramel Cutie is like my perfect shade of bronzer xx
So glad you are loving them both too! I am hoping to do another haul soon x
The mascara sounds great! I’m also very fussy when it comes to mascara and always look for new ones to make my lashes look even longer and more voluminous. Thank you for this awesome review!

I’m so happy with my haul! Can’t wait to try more from Fenty x
This has given me something to think about. After disliking both of their foundations, I sort of dismissed the brand completely which is probably a mistake. I’d love to try some of their bronzers or highlighters but it’s a nightmare picking shades like that out online. It’s one thing I’m thankful for when it comes to foundations, always the lightest unless the lightest looks way too dark is a pretty foolproof method 😂 x
I feel you because I’m still unsure if there is a foundation that really suits my preferences within the line. I am so happy I tried Fenty though. I’m glad its not just me that can’t pick out shades haha! I need to check swatches online more often x
Fenty Beauty really quickly became one of my favourite makeup brands. There aren’t many products I’ve disliked! The gloss bomb and sun stalk’r bronzer are definitely in my top 5. Great picks! Hope you can try more from the brand.
I can see why because all three products impressed me so much! I hope to try more from the brand soon. Thanks so much for reading xx
