As the leaves fall from the trees and the nights get colder, I like to alter my style to suit the changing season. When I first discovered Jord wooden watches, I knew it was the perfect unique piece for this Autumn.

Unique and Minimalist

I’m a huge fan of more natural materials and although wood may seem a little unusual, It makes for such an eye catching and sophisticated timepiece. All of Jords watches are made from various types of 100% natural wood, making every watch truly unique. Jord don’t use toxic chemicals or nickel in their watches, so if you are an allergy sufferer fear not! I adore the bronze detailing on my watch and as someone that suffers from all kinds of allergies, I haven’t experienced any discomfort or allergic reaction from wearing it.

Meet Cassia

My beautiful Olive and Aegean blue watch is from the Cassia range. Jord has so many striking collections, it can be difficult to choose. I was drawn to the Cassia range for its minimalist and Scandinavian inspired design. The natural grains of the olive wood and sapphire crystal face is unlike anything I own.  The roman numerals give it that extra touch of sophistication and timeless feel.

The best part of this striking woman’s watch, is the domed sapphire crystal case. It reflects the world around you in the most pleasing way. When I catch a glimpse to look at the time, I see the reflection of the clouds above, or a rainbow of light dancing across the dial. It’s like my own personal ever changing piece of artwork. Far more satisfying then looking at my phone screen to check the time and just as functional.

The craftsmanship of my Cassia watch is outstanding. I have received many compliments when wearing this beautiful timepiece. The minimalist style really grabs people’s attention.

Beautiful accessories can make the everyday, extra special

A plain chunky knit paired with a striking wooden watch can really transform your look. This exquisite watch pairs so perfectly with the key colours of autumn. Most of my wardrobe contains more jewel tones and darker colours and I have loved adding this timepiece to finish off my look.  When I’m wrapped up in a scarf and heavy coat, my beautiful wooden watch is still on display, making it the perfect accessory for this season.

I love how the cassia watch captures my personality in one elegant piece. I’m not one for adorning myself in a lot of accessories, I like to keep it minimal. The words of Coco Chanel always stuck with me; “before you leave the house, look in the mirror and take at least one thing off” This less is more approach really resonated with me.  As a result I think a watch makes for the perfect, functional, stylish and ‘all you need’ accessory.

Loving Care

When receiving my watch I was giving some instructions on caring for it. Jords Wooden watches are splash proof but not waterproof. I personally think it’s far too beautiful to jump in a pool with, so better to take it off. Lemon or Tung oil can be buffed into the wooden parts to keep it looking brand new. The beauty of a wooden watch is it will always have character. Instead of getting scratched and scuffed like an all-metal watch, it will just add charm! Lastly, avoid any sudden changes in temperature, as this could cause the wood to crack. Treat it well and it will last you many happy years to come.
