Empties Edition 3

Beauty Products I’ve used up

About a month ago I got fed-up with holding onto beauty products I’ve used up. So I tipped a huge amount into the recycling bin in a moment of weakness. Somehow I convinced myself to keep empty products again and not longer after here we are with my empties bin over following once more. So it was time for another edition of empties. Would I repurchase?

So on that note, here we are with another basket full of skin, body, hair and makeup products that I have used to the very last drop and am finally ready to share my thoughts with you, but more importantly answer the question…. Do I love them enough to repurchase?

Empties Edition 3

Skincare

I always buy backups of my skincare products long before I run out. So if I hit the midway mark and I have already repurchased, it’s a good indicator that I can’t live without a product. That being said my collection is ever growing and I’m trying to minimise it before returning to some favourites. Meaning this time round I am waiting to use up other products first.

Pixi Rose Oil Blend | £26

The Pixi Rose Oil Blend is a deeply nourishing facial oil that I liked to use at night to keep my skin hydrated. It smells a lot like Turkish delight with a sweet gentle rose scent. You can over do this oil so I kept my usage to around 4-5 drops to ensure it sunk into the skin and didn’t feel greasy. I only ever used this at night but you could mix this into your foundation for a extra dewy look or use before moisturiser for added glow. This is a beautiful oil for hydrating the skin and keep it looking fresh and comfortable.

Verdict: Would repurchase

Omorovicza Moor Cream Cleanser | £52 (for full size)

The Omorovicza Moor Cream Cleanser scent remind me of eucalyptus. Its gentle and effective but provides a deep clean feeling that noticeably reduced my pores and blackheads. Omoroicza always blows me away with their products, its why they are my favourite brand. Try them once and you will be hooked too. Every time I used this cleanser it felt like a spa treatment and my skin looked immediately improved. The light grey mud reminds me of their Deep Cleansing Mask which I am always hooked onto. It’s like a perfect hybrid between the two and a bit lighter than their Thermal Cleansing Balm. I can’t recommend it enough for a daily detox.

Verdict: Will repurchase

Empties Edition 3 Skincare

Pai Camellia & Rose Gentle Hydrating Cleanser | £38

The Pai Camellia & Rose Cleanser is formulated for sensitive skin and is such a gentle yet effective cream cleanser. I found this didn’t aggregate my skin but still did a great job of keeping it clear and happy. The cleanser does come with a muslin cloth to help massage and remove the product. I have no complaints about this cleanser it really did the trick and is a fantastic buy if you are looking for a cleanser targeted towards sensitive skin.

Verdict: Would repurchase

Clarins Water Comfort One-Step Cleanser | £21

I have been through multiple bottles of the Clarins Water Comfort One-Step Cleanser. Its subtle fresh peach scent is just delightful and this works amazingly as a quick no-rinse skin cleanser. I use this every morning and find it really works just as well as a wash off cleasner. This is an absolute staple of mine and I make sure I never run out.

Verdict: Have repurchased

Caudalie Vine[activ] Energising and Soothing Eye Cream | £27.50 (for full size)

The Caudalie Vine[activ] eyecream was only a sample size but it lasted me a fair amount of time. Its quit thin in texture and absorbs quickly into the skin. I love quite a few products from the Vine[activ] range but this one just didn’t get me excited. It’s by no means bad, it certainly does the job but I generally prefer rich, thicker eye creams as my skin is so dry and this didn’t feel as hydrating as others I love.

Verdict: unlikely to repurchase

Bodycare

I get through bodycare at an alarming rate, partly due to the fact I have no portion control and partly due to the fact my skin is permanently dry and I have adopted the slather it on at every opportunity approach. Some of these products have been sitting in my empty basket for a while and because of my large stash of bodycare I haven’t made as many repurchases as I normally would.

Soaper Duper Shea Body Butter | £7.50

The Soaper Duper Shea Body Butter has a light yet rich consistency that doesn’t take long to work into the skin. As it is a lighter texture I worked through the tub quite quickly but the bonus is it doesn’t leave your skin feeling greasy. The shea scent is simply divine and lingers on your skin throughout the day. I find this nicely hydrating for my dry skin and gives zero irritation.

Verdict: Would repurchase

Lush Lord of Misrule Shower Cream | £10.95

The scent of the Lord of Misrule Shower Cream is so intoxicating and the florescent green cream never fails to entertain. This is a limited edition product that was release last Halloween and it took me about 4 months to use it up with intermitted use. As the shower creams are such a thick consistency it’s extremely difficult to squeeze out the bottle and as you can see my bottle has been through the ringer a bit. I found in the end the best thing to do was remove the cap entirely and squeeze a large blob straight onto my skin. These don’t lather but as they are a cream they can be worked into the skin and a little goes a long way. I absolutely love how this scent transforms in the shower notes of black peppercorn and patchouli fill the air.

Verdict: Would repurchase if released again

Empties Edition 3 Bodycare

The Body Shop Virgin Mojito Body Butter | £14

I think by now everyone is very familiar with The Body Shop Body Butters, the Virgin Mojito was one of their summer releases and I don’t think I need to tell you this but it smelt divine. It takes me a long time to use up a Body Shop Body Butter as I don’t find them hydrating enough for my dry skin and this can cause irritation if I use them consecutively. Because of this, it’s more of an occasional treat for me and I do find the thickness of them to take a while to work into the skin. The scents always make it well worth it and the amount of product you get for the price, I’m not complaining. It’s a bit of a nostalgic product for me and something I keep going back too.

Verdict: Would repurchase if released again

Tony Moly Panda Dream Hand Cream | £10.50

No guesses as to why I love this Tony Moly Panda Dream Hand Cream, It’s easily the cutest packaging ever! Although there wasn’t much product inside, it had a thick emollient texture that made it last much longer than I expected. The candy grape scent may not be to everyone’s taste but I absolutely loved it. Having this little guy sitting on my desk genuinely brighten my day and I would properly repurchase it on the fact alone. Sometimes the packaging makes all the difference!

Verdict: Would repurchase

Haircare

Most of what I threw away before being able to review were haircare products, so for this empties I only have one thing to talk about. Luckily its one of my favourites and a product I have repurchased countless times.

Empties Edition 3 Haircare

Redken Hair Cleansing Cream Shampoo | £14

I use the Redken Cleansing shampoo once a week, normally on the weekend to help clarify and purify my hair. It works just like a normal shampoo but really helps remove product build-up and keep my hair looking its best. If you use a lot of products you can leave this on your hair for up to 10 minutes to remove heavy build-up and restore your hair to its former glory. It really works and I often use this in conjunction with a hair mask to really give my hair some TLC when I have a little extra time.

Verdict: Have repurchased

Makeup

It takes me a very long time to use up makeup products as I so rarely use a product consistently even if I do love it. So this empties only contains two products but I think I have more to say on both then anything else so far.

NYX HD Concealer in CW04 | £6

I picked up the NYX HD concealer on a whim and hadn’t heard much about it but I quickly feel in love with the formula and found myself reaching for it for all sorts of needs. It colour matches me so well so I can use it under my eyes, for blemishes and to clean up makeup errors. One of my favourite ways to use this concealer is to clean up my lip line if I’m going for a bold lip or to carve out my brows to get a super sharp shape. Its high coverage but not drying. I find it blends easily and doesn’t look patchy or heavy on my skin. It’s such an all-rounder and an absolute staple for me.

Verdict: Have repurchased

Empties Edition 3 Makeup

Bourjois Push Up Volume Glamour Mascara |£8.99

I was sent the Bourjois Push Up Volume Glamour Mascara in an Influenster box last December. I never like to have too many mascaras on the go at once because they have such a short shelf life so once I opened it became my only mascara for 2 months. This mascara gives a huge amount of volume but you do have to scrape a lot of excess products off the brush to avoid your lashes becoming to clumpy. I found this problem worsened the longer it was opened. I formula is very thick and takes a bit of work to get separated, voluminous lashes. That being said I think it’s a good mascara if you don’t mind the little bit of extra work. It doesn’t smudge or flake and gives a decent amount of length too.

Verdict: unlikely to repurchase

You made it! I love looking back over my empties and remembering what I loved and didn’t about a product to help inform my future purchases and maybe even yours too.

This time round I liked or loved everything although I’m unlikely to repurchase the likes I still think they are good products that maybe favourites for other people. If you fancy reading more about my empties you can catch up on my empties edition 1 and empties edition 2 to see even more products Iv’e used up.

I had that Nyx concealer years ago and I loved it! I’ll have to pick up another one when I travel internationally next, for some reason none of our Nyx stands have it.
