Mix up your skincare routine!

Caudalie and LoveMeBeauty have very kindly sent me four Caudalie products to test and review*. I was absolutely over the moon to receive this cleansing with Caudalie kit, as I have been a long-time lover of the brand. I have been putting my new cleansing routine to the test and I’m excited to share with you my thoughts. Spoiler alert, they are amazing!

Caudalie has challenged me to mix it up. And use these fantastic products as part of my routine. I am so pleased to share my thoughts of these products with you. Some are firm favourites and some I was excited to try again, either way, I divided straight into my box of goodies and after geeking out about all the wonderful things I had discovered, I am here with my review!

Caudalie

Caudalie has been a part of my skin routine for years. They are a brand I love and trust. There is a lot to love about the brand. They use naturally derived ingredients in all their products and avoid the use of Parabens, Phthalates and mineral oils to name a few. Ingredients that a lot of people have bad reactions to. Many of Caudalie’s products use organic grape water and grape-seed oils, its definitely a common theme throughout their brand and something that makes them quite unique.  But that’s not all they use, their products are packed with botanical oils and butters to nourish, gently clean and sooth the skin. It’s why my sensitive skin loves these products and I in turn love them too.

My Skintype

Dry, Dehydrated and sensitive. Occasionally blemish prone.

Caudalie Make-up Removing Cleansing Oil | £18

The Make-up Removing Cleansing Oil is exactly what it says on the tin. I always gravitate towards oil and balm makeup removers, because I find them so much more effective. Oils have the ability to break down makeup quickly and gently and doesn’t leave the skin feeling stripped of moisture.

Gentle, nourishing and makes quick work of removing even eye makeup. My skin feels clean and comfortable and not at all greasy. I’m hooked!

The oil is an indulgent product, that makes quick work of removing all traces of my makeup and leaves my skin looking comfortable and clean. Gentle enough for the eye area, it doesn’t cause my eyes to sting or burn when using to remove mascara. I find it works into the skin quite quickly so doesn’t have much slip to it, despite being an oil. When adding water a silky lather is created that helps the product to be worked in more easily and break down the makeup. It makes fast work of removing every trace of my makeup and I was so impressed even after the first use.

Perfect for Sensitive Skin

The Caudalie Cleansing Oil has a fresh almond scent, that is quite unique for a Caudalie product. As I have sensitive skin I’m always wary of scents in products, but the fragrance comes from the almond oil used within it. So I found this doesn’t cause me any irritation. The Cleansing oil is marketed towards sensitive skin and I found this to be accurate. I doesn’t cause any redness, irritation of break outs in my skin and despite being so gentle it really gets the job done.

Directions

The direction state to use 3 pumps, I would advise using 4 if you are wearing heavy makeup. Applying to dry skin I work the product around my face before adding a splash of water to help it emulsify. I then continue to use circle motions massaging the oil into my skin. Keeping my eyes closed until I feel all makeup from the day melt away. It’s then a case of rinsing as normal and pat dry with a clean towel. Your skin will thank you!

Caudalie Vine[Activ] Overnight Detox Oil | £30

The Overnight Detox Oil has been a Holy Grail product for me for years. In fact I have dedicated an entire blog post to my love for this oil which you can read here. So you can imagine my delight to see it in this amazing parcel! I’m currently half way through a bottle so I’m thrilled to have a backup.

If your skin feels congested, dull and dehydrated you need to try this oil. With my dry skin it is so hard to find products that hydrate, while simultaneously improving texture and skin appearance.

The Overnight Detox Oil makes a visible difference to my skin overnight. If I go through a period of not using it, my skin looks tired, dehydrated and is noticeably rougher to the touch. I couldn’t be without it, a few drops a night and it works wonders. It’s a miracle product that keeps my skin looking plump, feeling hydrated and detoxed.

Caudalie Vine[activ] overnight oil

Perfect for all skin types

I can’t think of a person who wouldn’t benefit and enjoy this oil. It’s light and easily absorbed, so shouldn’t be a problem for oily skin. Rich in Vitamin E, this oil helps repair damage and improve acne scarring and texture. When you wake up in the morning your skin will be glowing.

Directions

I use the dropper to dispense around 6 drops into my palm and smooth this onto my face after cleansing, making sure to avoid my eye area. If I have any product left over I like to use this on my neck as well. As long as you count your drops it won’t feel greasy or heavy on the skin and sinks right in. I use this year round, as it’s hydrating enough for the colder months and light enough for the warmer months too. I really can’t recommend it enough.

Caudalie Skincare ProductsCaudalie Instant Foaming Cleanser | £7.50

The Instant Foaming Cleanser is the product I’m least familiar with. As I’m still putting it to the test I will be sure to update you when I finish it. For now, I wanted to share with you my initial thoughts, after using it nightly (after removing makeup) for the last week and half. In general I’m a bit apprehensive about the word ‘foaming’ as it tend to align with products that are more drying and better suited to oily skin.

I know and trust Caudalie as a brand and after reading that the foam is not only gentle but soothing to the skin I was game to give it a try.

My go to cleansers are normally balm cleansers, as I find them so nourishing. I don’t feel like this cleanser is drying per say, but it isn’t moisturising either. Using a hydrating facial oil or rich moisturiser afterwards can easily combat this, if it is a concern. So far it’s a product, I like and will use up. It’s comes in a travel friendly size (50ml) and is very reasonably priced. I think it’s a good product and packed with great ingredients (grape, sage and chamomile). I can see this being a great choice for teens or those with minimal skin concerns.

Caudalie Instant Foaming Cleanser

Perfect for normal skin

The foaming Cleanser is soap free, which is important to me as soap does aggravate my skin. I find this to be a gentle product on the skin, which seems consistent with other Caudalie products. As they use such a high percentage of natural ingredients and formulate them with sensitive skin in mind. I haven’t had any reaction in my skin, even after trying a wide range of products from their line.

Directions

The Foam is quite light and quickly dissipates. It took me awhile to figure out home much product I needed. I found two pumps to be about right. As it’s such a thin and light texture, you can’t really feel it on your skin after initially rubbing it in. Not to worry, it is doing its job as my skin always looks and feels clean after rinsing.

Caudalie Skincare Products

Caudalie Glycolic Peel | £22

My eyes light up when I saw the Glycolic Peel. Glycolic is one of my favourite ingredient in skincare, in fact I use it every day as it is an active ingredient in my Pixi Glow Tonic. Glycolic works to renew the top layer of the skin and boy does it. The Caudalie Glycolic peel gets to work straight away and does so many things simultaneously, we would be here all day if I were to list them all. Needless to say it’s a bit of a miracle product and makes my skin appear less dull and congested.

Renewed, brighter skin is only 10 minutes away!

My pores look smaller, especially around my nose. Scaring and hyper pigmentation is lighter and less noticeable. I have always seen results almost instantly when using glycolic products and the glycolic peel is no exception. If you are looking for a product to really wake up and rejuvenate your skin. You need to try this.

Perfect for radiance

Dead skin is sloughed off and pores are cleared, allowing for more radiant beautiful skin to be revealed. It is a chemical exfoliate but don’t fear! Glycolic is a magical ingredient and I notice such a difference in the texture and appearance of my skin when I use it. It works wonderful to remove dry skin and refine the overall texture. I think everyone could benefit.

Skin can become red if you go straight in with a high percentages of Glycolic. Start low and work your way up. I find this mask to be gentle enough even if you aren’t very familiar with the ingredient.

Directions

Applying to clean, dry skin, I squeeze out small amounts, thinning out onto the skin as I go, until my face is covered (avoiding my eyes of course!). It has the texture of clay and goes on as a semi-translucent white layer onto the skin. Personally I always like masks you can see, as it makes it easy to remove. Leave on for 10 minutes and rinse off. Voila, your skin will look brand new. You can use this twice a week but I personally like to mix up my masks, so my skin gets other benefits and thus would only use it once a week as a boost.

Caudalie Skincare Products*These products have been sent to me for testing and review purposes. All opinions are my own.

If I had to recommend one product, it would be the Overnight Oil, its been my tried and true for years and is such a miracle product. Although its hard not to sing the praises of the Glycolic Peel and the Makeup Removing Cleansing oil as well, I love both and highly recommend giving them a try. Lastly the Foaming Cleanser, this is a solid product that although isn’t as luxurious as the cleansers I normally go for, It really does the job. My skin feels comfortable and clean and I can’t wait to use it more.

I adore Caudalie! It is one of my favourite brands, half of my bathroom cabinet is easily Caudalie! I think their cleansing oil is the best cleansing oil I’ve ever tried, even better than Boscia, it is perfect for people with sensitive eyes (best stuff for mascara). Also love their grape water mist, it is so refreshing. I need to try the oil you’ve mentioned here, sounds so good, especially since we have an exact same skin type! xx
