Joanna Vargas is a luxury clean beauty line, that I have become obsessed with. I don’t say this lightly, the products I have to share with you are outstanding. As a skincare fanatic it takes a lot for me to see a real difference in my skin. I am excited to report I saw instant results with these products and I just can’t wait to tell you more about Joanna Vargas and why this brand need to be on your radar too!

Back in February I was sent two products from luxury clean beauty brand – Joanna Vargas. Skin City had just started stocking their products and I was eager to get familiar with the line. Joanna is known for being the queen of the naturopathic facial with salons in New York City and Los Angles. Combining her knowledge as an aesthetician, with all natural ingredients, this beautiful luxurious brand has finally made its way to the U.K. I was very excited to learn more about the amazing woman behind this brand and the philosophy of it too.

Clean Beauty has certainly been on the rise in the past few years and for good reason. It shows a shift and desire to go back to ingredients in their pure form. Give our skin a break from harsh chemicals, and improve impact on our planet as well.

The formula manta for Joanna Vargas skincare is ‘purify to simplify’ that’s a pretty powerful statement. As I have sensitive skin, my skincare journey has at times been bumpy and even painful. Finding products that work for me and keep my skin happy is really important. I’m not someone who responds well to harsh and man-made ingredients or products that aim to strip the skin. I can really see the influence and knowledge that has gone into this line. Created by someone who has spent time with a lot of different people, with different skin types and concerns. The ingredients are intelligent and purpose full. No fillers, no colours, no added fragrances, just well thought-out skincare, made with the best ingredients, that work.

Joanna Vargas Glow-To-Go set of five bestselling sheet masks | £60

The glow-to-go set (Link to Nordstorm) contains one of each of Joanna Vargas bestselling sheet masks. It makes for an amazing way to sample the line. I am usually on the fence with sheet masks, as I don’t love the cold-wet feeling but I have to say these has totally changed my opinion. My skin loved them and really looked like I had just had a treatment at a spa after each one. The bamboo sheet masks all come with a plastic overlay, to help you apply it more easily. I found the sizes to be good for my face too. Each one is single use but if you squeeze out some of the excess serum, you can get an added application the following day.

All five masks are fragrance free and suitable for sensitive skin.

Eden Sheet Mask

My skin felt so good after the Eden mask,
(Link to Nordstorm) bouncy and really smooth. I noticed my skin looking more dehydrated before I applied this, and I really saw the difference 20 minutes later. It’s amazing how much plumper and smoother my skin looked and felt in such short time. As I have dry skin, I honestly find that that’s no such thing as ‘to much’ hydration. My skin needs all the help it can get. When my skin is better hydrated, it’s less sensitive and red too. Having comfortable and deeply nourished skin really changes how I look and feel. I loved this mask and could see myself using it often, to top-up my hydration. I experienced no irritation and found it relaxing and enjoyable to use. One for dry, dehydrated and sensitive skin for sure.

Dawn Sheet Mask

I picked the Dawn sheet mask (Link to Nordstrom) when I had some breakouts as the mask is infused with hyaluronic acid and vitamin C. It felt the perfect treatment mask to revive my stressed skin. After 20 minutes my pores looked visibly smaller and clearer. My skin felt really plump and comfortable, I definitely noticed the collagen production effects. The vitamin C really made my skin look glowing too.

Despite being such a proactive mask, I found it to be gentle and delicately exfoliating to my skin. As I squeezed the packet while removing the mask, I was left with some extra serum. Which I used the following day on my face and decolletage as serum too. Absolutely loved this mask, it really boosted my skins texture and appearance after just one use.

Bright Eye Hydrating Sheet Mask

The Bright Eye mask (Link to Nordstorm) is one full eye-area sheet, that makes me look like I’m ready to join The Incredibles (which I’m okay with!). I loved this mask, I mean loved. I like to do sheet masks in the evening when I’m unwinding. Once I took this off, my skin felt and looked great. However, I really noticed the difference the next morning, when I went to wash my face again and saw how much brighter and tighter the skin around my eyes looked. They looked less puffy and my under eye circles less dark. I couldn’t believe it. When I smiled, my fine-lines even looked shallower. I wasn’t expecting such amazing results.

The same with the other Joanna Vargas sheet masks, they aren’t soaking wet, which makes all the difference to how they adhere to my skin and how much I enjoy the experience. A really relaxing, soothing and enjoyable 20 minute eye mask. I must say waking up with radiant under eyes was an even bigger bonus. I am very tempted to get the set of 5 eye masks now I know how much I love it!

Twilight Sheet Mask and Forever Glow Anti-Aging Sheet Mask

I still need to try the Twilight and Forever Glow Anti-Aging masks (links to Nordstrom) that also come in this set. I must admit with everything that is going on, I wanted to save some sheet masks for a little me time in the future. I find them a great way to unwind because usually I’m the type of person to not sit still but sheet mask kind of force you too. So it’s a great restful evening activity. I know I’m going to love these, as I have had such an amazing experience with the others.

Joanna Vargas Rejuvenating Serum | £80 

I feel in love with the Rejuvenating serum (link to Nordstrom) from first pump. No seriously, as soon as I applied this dreamy rejuvenating oil it was love. I have been using this every morning for two months, so I feel really confident in my review and I can honestly say I don’t have a bad word to say about it. A blend of Argan, Neroli and Jojoba give this serum a heavenly scent and it’s divine hydrating qualities. The serum is specifically to target premature signs of ageing and deeply moisturise the skin. Two big check points for me, as I am in my late 20’s and have dry skin. I couldn’t have picked a better serum for my skin and needs.

I use this once a day but you could easily use it twice if you wanted too. To be honest, I just want to make it last as long as possible! Even though it’s an oil, it’s light and quick to absorb. My skin feels calm and nourished as soon as I apply. Over the course of the two months I have used this I have really seen a difference in the texture of my skin. It looks and feels more elastic and is noticeable less dehydrated, which can cause more signs of ageing and redness too.

Worth the Splurge

I hope you enjoyed learning about this fabulous line. I know the products are pricey but in my opinion well worth the investment. Skincare has always been something I have valued since my teens and honestly I have never regretted splurging on something that really works. The confidence and comfort of clear, happy skin is priceless. I am so glad I have found a new brand which I really love. I would 100% buy both the sheet masks and rejuvenating serum again. Now I know there are salons in NYC and LA, I will be dreaming about a facial from Joanna herself… maybe one day. Oh and how can I not mention the stunning packaging before I sign-off.
